    Pros

Lots of opportunities for growth. CHOP has a great mission and does lot's of interesting and helpful research. They are recognized on a national and international level.

    Cons

The location is no ideal for commuters. Commuting to Philadelphia from New Jersey can be quite and exhausting trip having to take two trains

    Advice to Management

It is important to appreciate your employees and value their hard work even if they do not share the management title. Administrative work is just as important as clinical.

I worked at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Saving and improving the lives of kids is the best reason to work for CHOP -- they have an excellent mission.

    Cons

Employees aren't treated as well as patients, families, and donors. Over the years, CHOP has become more about making money, which it's all for a good cause, but they save their compassion for the kids and act like staff are replaceable parts of a machine instead of people. Benefits are decent, but could be better. Management is all about results and not the individual.

    Advice to Management

Ask yourself why so many employees are leaving after many happy years, and consider perhaps the problem is that you haven't been valuing them enough. Try to be a caring person, and treat your staff like they're people too.
