owners/managers we very rude and not friendly at all with their employees

    Maintenance (Former Employee) Boonville, MO

Prosa paycheck, not very good pay for the work required.

Consthe attitude of the owners. They treat their employees as if they were slaves that don't deserve respect

Advice to Senior Managementbe more respectful and caring of your employees and they might stay. I have never worked for a company that treated their employees like they were dirt beneath their feet before and I will tell anyone I know not to work there.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Do Not Invest in Choice Hotels Franchise Hotels, You will loose all your investment.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThere is nothing to say here

ConsChoice Hotels as whole do not have any standard. They want to follow Hilton, IHG without any customer base. You can't give service, when you do not make any money in Hotel..

Advice to Senior ManagementThey should run the hotel and get a experience of daily issues and know the reality.

    Stressful & Backstabbing

Guest Service Manager (Former Employee) Ocala, FL

ProsLoved working with line level co-workers, meeting new people from different cities. Very satisfying helping our guests and seeing them smile.

ConsOwnership offers promises and never follows through. Does not give reviews, raises, promotions. Don't jump to conclusions without investigating first.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive reviews, follow through with raises. Don't promise then not give it.

    Worst Hotel Experience Job Ever!!!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe reservation system is easy to learn

ConsOwners and management only scheduling one person at the front desk on busy days, broken items that either never get fixed or "fixed" than break again a couple of days later, constant ant problem, non existent training, not giving employees any health benefits, sick days, vacation or holiday pay like most decent hotels do to build moral, the owners only really will have management schedule overtime to their family members who work in the hotel......I could go on and on!

Advice to Senior ManagementAny advice I'd give they wouldn't take. This is a franchised hotel as most hotels are, but this is the worst example of one.

Terrible company that devalues it's people

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Silver Spring, MD

ProsI really can't think of any PROS at this point

ConsUpper and mid level management is utterly inept. Decision making is bad, bordering on senseless. The culture is exclusionary with only a chosen few that even have voices as such . I would highly recommend to anyone that takes pride in what they do to keep looking. This isn't the company for you.

    Advice to Senior ManagementQuit.

After a decade at Choice, were I to interview there now, I would never have accepted a position

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Phoenix, AZ

ProsYou will handle more than one position, so you will learn quickly how to juggle and prioritize
When you start, your pay will be lower than competitive but decent enough for some
The office is new and clean, and given how many people keep leaving, there is plenty of room and parking

ConsOnce you master more than one position, you will be expected to stay at that pace and receive even more responsibilities. At this point, you may kiss your work-life balance goodbye and your salary will be far less than your worth. Intense amount of managerial greed currently growing. Cold environment full of miserable, used-up employees and ignorant temps/contractors/interns.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement is on a tear to ruin the company with failing outsourcing, replacing full time workers with contractors with limited knowledge and allowing high levels of attrition, which is completely unnecessary. They are thinking short-term only for their own gain. Advice for Board Members is to look at what it takes to maintain growth long term and seek the truth from management about current strategies. 8 people can't produce code for this website for as many projects as they expect to be achieved for long. It's good to be lean; it's not good to be emaciated.
