    Frustrating.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Auburn Hills, MI

ProsRelaxed environment most of the time, some of the best co-workers I've ever had. Good relationship with immediate supervisor. Work is interesting and challenging. Union protection.

ConsWages are just okay. It seems to be that the only way to get a pay increase is to wait it out and put your time in. Too much confusion on practices and policies. Mid and upper level management quickly lose sight of what it takes to do the jobs of those they manage.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive merit-based wage increases to the hard-working and highly skilled employees who care about the future of the company. Realize that inspiration must come from the top on down, and weed out the employees that become a cancer to the work environment.

Rewarding but tough place to work

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Kokomo, IN

ProsNew powertrains are being produced at break neck speeds gives you the opportunity to learn at a very fast rate

ConsNot enough managers and engineers to manage daily production, WCM projects, and cover the alternate work schedule.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is a large disconnect between CTC and the plants. The stress on managers in the plants is apparent and we will be soon losing very valuable people due to working environment in our manufacturing facilities.

Middle and lower Management have a lot to be desired.

Team Leader (Current Employee) Belvidere, IL

ProsUnion representation and protection. Job security. Great pay (if you're first tier). Good benefits. Decent people to work with. Build great products.

ConsArrogance and self aggrandizement seem to be the rule of thumb among the lower management tier.

Advice to Senior ManagementRealize you DON'T know more than the people you're trying to lead and listen to good advice from the floor.

    Chrysler Manufacturing review

Production Supervisor (Current Employee) Belvidere, IL

ProsGreat Pay, can be rewarding at times

ConsVery little assistance from upper management, always so busy that you can never do things the right way. Upper management wants you to document everything you do, rather than doing it. You spend five times the amount of time documenting what you do on a daily basis then it took the time to do, and can be very frustrating

Advice to Senior ManagementAssist your floor supervisor and reduce the amount of work proofing

Hybrid Engineer (Former Employee) Auburn Hills, MI

ProsAt Chrysler there was a lot of freedom, and that was great. I dabbled in many, many different areas, and learned a ton. When you work hard, you are complemented. When you slack, people won't give you a hard time. You have control of the type of day you are going to have, and the type of employee you want/have to be.

ConsThe cons, as usual, go hand-in-hand with the pros. People who take advantage of the freedom weigh the company and culture down. There is very little fear, very little repercussions, and because of that, inefficiency and bad attitudes spawn and prosper. Freedom also exist (here we go again) with the management. Just as employees become complacent, so too do the the managers. Again, the product and quality of work suffers.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe harsher, be meaner, stop taking it easy.

    Disproportionate Pay

Assembly Worker (Current Employee) Sterling Heights, MI

ProsO.K. Benefit program for new hires, hiring many that were on unemployment. Good 401K, room for growth for family or those they like!

ConsTier I & Tier II pay differences cause dissension among workers. No pension plan for new hires. A lot of favoritisim

    Advice to Senior ManagementNone

    Helpful people, unclear objectives.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe majority of the people are wonderful and are willing to help at all times.

ConsThe need for people to help stems from unclear processes and a lack of discipline.

Advice to Senior ManagementTalk with your employees and openly receive the feedback.

    Stress Free.

Development Engineer (Current Employee) Auburn Hills, MI

ProsIt is a very stress free environment and we get to experiment with new technologies within the advanced department.

ConsAt times it is tough getting in contact with upper management.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire the contract employees.
