I have been working at Chrysler part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The balance between the salespeople on who takes the walk-ins first. It's a first come first served basis. Being a front desk receptionist also let's me be in somewhat of control by keeping track of who is taken care of and who isn't, keeps the coffee station stocked and the sitting area clean.

    Cons

The only challenge that I face with is when the business gets very very busy and sometimes the salespeople just jump in and take whoever when there are a couple of people that have already been waiting. Other than that, it's just the challenge of being calm with the stress of calls, credit card slips, three different receipts, hunting people down in the building, keeping the building clean and free of trash and keeping the coffee area stocked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

So far, all of my managers have been great. I really don't have any advice to give them.

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The pay is great and so are the people. Being a supervisor I can tell you that there are many growth opportunities once you get your foot in the door.

    Cons

Be prepared to work a lot of potential overtime. They pay you well for your time spent here, but the time commitment must be there on your part.

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great culture, Fitness center on site, lots of opportunities currently (but automotive is cyclic). As challenging as you want to make it.

    Cons

Long drive for me. Raises are tough to get, but still payed similar to the market from what I can tell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We need more marketing towards great engineers. Not enough excitement being generated for how great the company is.

Chrysler Technical Center is a nice place to work.

Current Employee - Engineering Supervisor  in  Auburn Hills, MI
Current Employee - Engineering Supervisor in Auburn Hills, MI

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible timing, all engineering labs are under one roof. One gets a good exposure to the vehicle development process. Good employee friendly facilities at Chrysler Technical Center.

    Cons

Getting parking spot is difficult if you happen to come late like 09:00am. It's further worse if own a competitor vehicle like Honda, GM, Ford, Nissan etc. FIAT, who owns now Chrysler, of course is ok.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make training classes little more effective.

Current Employee - Manufacturing Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The pay. The job satisfaction, opportunity, and many really talented employees.

    Cons

You can work for a bad boss sometimes. If you are a great employee in your current role, sometimes you are held back from opportunities. It took me over a year to change assignments because my Management could not find a "suitable" back-fill for my job.

We waste money by outsourcing work that should be done in-house. We need to step up our efforts with Document Management Control and 3D facility layouts at our plants.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting bad managers who have "connections". Listen more to the talented experts who know what they are doing. Promote and utilize your talent from within. Stop outsourcing work and paying millions to achieve very poor & inaccurate results. Much better to perform the work internally using your skilled employees who care about our bottom line.
