    Pros

Great people on team. management has no clue of what is going on. If micromanagement is your idea of ideal work environment, then this is for you!

    Cons

Everything is a fire drill here. manager is outdated and has a industrial revolution mentality. manager does not care for employees and only looks out for itself. pitty

Management does not bothers you if you are a contract employee.

    Cons

You are stuck to the salary.
No big projects. You often work as individual contractor at the client location.
Poor & no coordination with leadership.

I worked at Ciber (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Like at any decent sized company, there are some smart and good people. My job in particular had a lot of flexibility, which was appreciated, however that was only because my division was being ignored and would be eventually sold off.

    Cons

Company is too decentralized - regional offices do whatever they want to get business, including accepting substandard deals with little to no profit margin or that fail / hemorrhage cash to fix. This was one thing they were going to try to work on, maybe they've improved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Find revenue.

    Pros

Access to some good client positions. (Job Opportunities)

    Cons

Zero management support. Corporate leadership appears to care only about billable hours. Review process is very poorly done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of the ivory tower and go talk to the consultants.

    Pros

The organization has some great people who understand the verticals. Sadly, Ciber does not make an effort to keep them. Ciber continues to bleed its top performers to CedarCreston, Deloitte and Oracle due to culture..not necessarily $$. Firm has potential but only with the right leadership.

    Cons

Poor leadership. Company is trying to transition from a body shop to a Big 5 consulting firm with poor execution at the helm.
Very contentious/negative environment with Senior Consulting staff in evaluating potential deals and pipeline.
Chicago style leadership - Intimidation, Fear and 24x7 work schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate what kind of culture you want in an effort to build a successful organization.
Mixing the old management with the new management. Both of which are disconnected from the employees. Very impersonal.
Have a real marketing plan with Cloud.

I have been working at Ciber full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good base pay and benefits Some great talent.

    Cons

Sales Culture - No cross sell capability among practices unless you want to jeopardize your commission - every practice owns their customers and will not engage others...very silo ed . A very old school sales mentality...no marketing demand generation...cold calling is king...use you for your contacts...funnel dying...lack of references... Extremely poor executive sales leadership...very tactical no strategy or vision. Re-aligning organizational structure does not address the sales culture!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on culture and moving to a current state sales model. Spend money on marketing and demand generation. Your funnel is dying - inflating the funnel with non qualified opportunities to justify the sales play initiative makes everyone feel better - until the next quarter when your close ratio drops from a pitiful 9% to less than 5% - then you will blame the client partner and don't address the real issue Turn over is going to run rampant.

    Pros

The first interview was over skype which was great since I was looking for jobs in a different city. The hiring process was fast and painless.

    Cons

Since they were going through a reorganization and a shift in focus, they couldn't really pay attention to the consultants. Lack of direction, involvement and motivation from managers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your employees. You have a very high turnover rate and no clear career paths

I worked at Ciber full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - have connections at some major companies
    - use as way to get your foot into door at companies
    - you can get some good opportunities but you need to work the internal organization to make food things happen for you.
    - I did work with some very smart and supportive peers at Ciber

    Cons

    - horrible corporate Culture
    - no one as ' go to in company to be your advocate, people did not even know who their boss was due to organizational confusion!
    - 'contract house' mentality, did not recognize its staff as its most important assets- lost many people as result
    - expected 100% billable time- no recognition of transition timing ( no fault of associate), yet staff asked to take their pro time or unpaid time off due to timing gaps or poor planning by mgmt

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - if you really want to be seen as consultants- you need to that your staff as such
