    Pros

Lots of very capable people in the Hanover/Linthicum MD area.

    Cons

Major management decisions coming from Ottawa. Decisions rarely based on long term outlook...very concerned with Quarterly results. Management commitment to product quality is questionable.

    Pros

It is a good place to work and learn about the telecom industry. It is a working hours flexible company. Environment is amicable and has good benefits.

    Cons

Very fragmented, silos of power are noticeable and not much team work among different departments. Mid management is old with long tenure. That makes them outdated and very difficult to implement new ideas and methodologies, leading to inefficiencies.

    Pros

Salaries are good, bonuses are getting there, time-off

    Cons

HR is horrible, do not expect support or career advise from this group. Procedures are put into place without training to those will be required to carry out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not preach party-line to the masses who know better, provide training opportunities for All employees. The company does not run on the backs of engineers and sales alone.

    Pros

Great Place to work at. Very friendly and extremely helpful co-workers. Lots of opportunities to learn new stuff. Would recommend a friend to apply.

    Cons

Need appropriate training and guidance for interns and co-ops. Should be immensely independent and be willing and skilful to manage tasks on our own.

Current Employee - Back Office Employee  in  Baltimore, MD
Current Employee - Back Office Employee in Baltimore, MD

    Pros

    Benefits, work-life balance, casual atomosphere

    Cons

Not much thought or care for back office employees just show up and do your job 100%, high stress over staying employed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you have any hesitation about a process or practice before it is implemented, seek input from employees who will be performing them, managers are telling you what you want to hear which will always be, yes, but they have no ready solutions when things start going awry.

Former Employee - Senior Systems Engineer  in  Linthicum, MD
Former Employee - Senior Systems Engineer in Linthicum, MD

    Pros

Good Team culture at the working levels. Good back office support by Marketing, Operations, and Professional Services teams for customer facing jobs. No layoff worries for solid contributors.

    Cons

No raises for expanding experience or skill set. Can be political at the higher management levels with strong egos prevailing. common to limit or reduce commission once targets have been met. VPs and up make way too much money for the value provided but that's the norm in today's business culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Watch out how high level management personalities and actions affect corp culture.
