Pros – Cigna does a great job recruiting and retaining dedicated talent. Your peers and management are extremely supportive. It's a fast paced environment and everyone I work with truly wants to succeed.
Cons – While there are opportunities to advance, there is a strong sense of having a good relationship with the hiring manager prior to joining their team.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work.

Current Employee – been working at Cigna
Pros – Team environment/team dynamic
Work life balance
Work from home available
Corporate discounts on many items
CEO is engaged with the company
passion for health and wellness
Cons – Salary is a little low compared to other places I've worked but they offer work from and it's hard to put a price on that.
Benefits could be a bit better.
Advice to Senior Management – Adjust the review process. There shouldn't be a limit to the number of employees you can rate as exceptional. Then it isn't true pay for performance.

Current Employee – been working at Cigna
Pros – Flexibility
Lots of advancement opportunity for those who perform well and network within the organization
Focus on health and wellness of employees and communities in which we work
Opportunities to volunteer time in the community
Cons – Technology is a bit behind
Consumer directed health benefits are progressive, but often end up meaning increased out of pocket costs
Advice to Senior Management – Improve technology so your employees can be as productive as possible. Find ways to make consumer driven health plans more attractive and beneficial to employees.

Current Employee – been working at Cigna
Pros – The corporate environment is comfortable for almost any employer. They treat you with great respect and are fair to all employees.
Cons – The location of Cigna is not the greatest for young individuals right out of college. The city is a little slow for single individuals.
Advice to Senior Management – I think management at Cigna is great treats all employees as equals. I really enjoyed my time working with them.

Current Employee – been working at Cigna
Pros – CIGNA is a large international company, so there is much room for career growth. You can stay in your field or change careers, all within the same company. Management is extremely open to flexible scheduling, job sharing, and work at home arrangements. Feedback on performance is given monthly so the employee generally has an idea of how his or her performance measures up to what is desired. Performance objectives are extremely clear. Job security is also a big plus at CIGNA. CIGNA also takes interest in the health of their employees, promoting fitness and providing a health center for employees.
Cons – Although performance reviews are given quite often to let you know how you're performing, these reviews don't mesh with how you're compared to others in your field when it comes to raises and promotions at year end. Often, employees are rated for raises and promotions well in advance of final year end appraisals. CIGNA's benefits compared to other companies' are extremely lean, although they allow the choice of a few levers on the HRA and HSA plans (the only 2 types of products we are offered for medical coverage). We are only offered high deductible plans. I wonder if management has to choose the same products or if they have their own "executive" plans?
Advice to Senior Management – Pretty good job overall, but sometimes the message you're trying to convey is not backed up by the actions of management.
