    Pros

    Good people, pay is good depending on if you are coming in at at higher position. Overall good company that needs work

    Cons

    Bad leadership in certain areas, not customer focused, ever changing environment where it seems no one knows what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

    Management should know the job they are in charge of. Learn and grow people are willing to learn and grow.

    Pros

    Hard working employees, focused on providing good customer service. Competitive compensation, vacation, benefits.

    Cons

    Core company is treading water in a very competitive market. Key assets and the best opportunities for growth and profit were spun off to Cyrus One along with considerable investment, but with limited benefits to core company shareholders or employees. The remaining company may find it difficult to continue to adequately invest in network maintenance and technology. Limited gender and racial diversity, many management positions appear to be filled based on good-old-boy connections.

    Pros

    Pay was good and the work life balance was good. Very flexible with PTO.

    Cons

    Unclear direction of the business makes this a less than ideal place to advance your career or operate day to day. Very few opportunities for training. Very top heavy management structure. It was difficult to complete anything because no two people were on the same page. Felt like the business was being prepared for sale.

    Pros

    the pros are that they pay fairly well, their vacation policy is better than some, but that is really about it.

    Cons

    no career path, benefits being cut yearly, stodgy culture that resists anything new or creative. no racial or gender equality in upper management.

    Advice to Management

    There are plenty of smart talented moral people that didn't go to Moler or St X.

    Good compensation and pretty good benefits.

    Cons

    The Company is shrinking and annual layoffs have become commonplace.

    Advice to Management

    Need to set long term objectives and not manage to the immediate fiscal quarter. Tend to make shortsighted decisions that hamper long term success.

    Pros

    The compensation plan (although dynamic and constantly changing) is usually a great payout for the consultant. Retail hours are usually pretty terrible, but management does work with you to keep you as happy as possible with your schedule.

    Cons

    I feel as though the consultant should be empowered, but there is no information backing our business decisions because management does not make that information readily available. We constantly have to defend a company we believe in without having the numbers to back it.

    Advice to Management

    Share information with the people selling your product. We are at your mercy, and we are the people who are sharing the information with the consumer. We are the last people to find out news in the company. Also, if the focus if FiOptics, then get equipment that makes the FiOptics service ROCK! The network is by far the best network in the area, but the in home equipment is (9 times out of 10) the only issue the customer has.

    Pros

    Big company..Freedom, decent Health insurance, supplied good working tools!

    Cons

    Poor Union, Need more diversity, Lack of professional management!

    Advice to Management

    Pay attention to employee needs and concerns! Don't be so quick to judge a person based on the color of their skin! In corporate more Afro Americans in management!

    Pros

    Had some great individuals
    Great opportunities to learn

    Cons

    Excessive downsizing, management is being strectched (60+ hours a week is normal)
    Culture is a "gotcha" mentality, can get a bit catty. Trust is gone from a decade of stripping the cash of one group to pump into a company to get ready to sell.

    Advice to Management

    Quit stripping core business to pump other areas, quit making one group a success at the expense of everyother business unit. Everyone wants to succeed, quit blocking success.

    Pros

    when i first started there in 11/99, it was a good local company to work for. CBT(cinti bell telephone) valued their employees and the work we did.

    Cons

    over the past 6 years or so, CBT management has outsourced all of the customer service departments, both residential & business, to the Phillipines. i can't express to you how upset the CBT customers are.

    Advice to Management

    bring back all of the customer service departments back to Cinti Bell. it will cost you more but it will make your customers much more happy & CBT might be able to regain a lot of the customers you have lost. it just means upper management won't be able to have as big as bonuses as they are use to.
