    Good Pay, questionable stability

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsGood Pay, Good People, Good Benefits, allow personal growth based on skill.

ConsWhile Cincinnati Bell is good at pulling in contributors for the United Way and the Arts fund, they seem to lack interest their employees. There is no concern for their family's or the community that these employees contribute to with their wages. Keep in mind this is the same community that Cnbell expects to support them. It is one thing to offshore jobs that consistently revolve, and another to displace seasoned professional employees, with up to 20 years of dedication to CBT. If you want to work for a place with a cloud of uncertainty over your head, no matter how expert your skills are, this is the place to be.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen you research a problem and a solution, put all parties involved in the room, before making regrettable decisions. This seems to be the theme for this organization. The decisions made in the past few years seem like a deliberate attempt to devalue the company.

    Good opportunities for some

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Norwood, OH

ProsBell’s corporate culture is improving. I have worked with some dynamic leaders who were genuinely excited about our business and invested in its growth. My schedule has been flexible and compensation has been fair. I received support while continuing my education and took advantage of opportunities to obtain professional certifications.

ConsThey suffer from a lack of diversity and women in leadership roles. When it comes to promotions they often post opportunities but know who is going to fill the position. HR has behaved unprofessionally while filling positions as well. They need to be more transparent when posting positions and value professionalism more than personal relationships.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep making changes that improve corporate culture. You made progress under Ted Torbeck ‘s leadership. Create a formal process for development within the company. Focus on meaningful mentoring opportunities and career path activities.

Get a lot of great experience.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsThis is a company that you will get a lot of great corporate experience. You are asked to take on a lot more responsibility then your own job description which gives you exposure to so many other corporate experiences.

ConsNot a great culture. They are trying to change this but it is a very slow process. There is not a great work/personal life balance

Advice to Senior ManagementBuild a culture that rewards people and makes them want to continue their career there.

Great company to have on your Resume

    Customer Service Representative (Former Employee)

ProsIf you are offerd to work for the company I mostly say I would recommend it especially if you really need a job. Pay is decent and can be rewarding, decent benefits, lots of training provided, hard work is usually noticed, incentives, cool perks with the local business's around the cincinnati area.. Fioptics should keep the company moving upward for the most part

Consexpect to deal with very angry dissatisfied customers ( if in sales and or csr) for poor service and outsourcing to phillipines for some call center departments that deal with crucial information on accounts for a local company, Cincinnati bell is responsible for 200 job cuts in 2012 call center, the systems used are entirely way to outdated and disorganized for a technology based company, lots of micromanagers, other departments are never on the same page with anything at all can be very stressful.

    Sr. Sales Representative

Senior Sales Representative (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsThe company has decent medical benefits despite numerous changes in recent years. Salaries are relatively good, despite some concessions in recent years. Most employees are very friendly.

ConsThe outsourcing of jobs to foreign countries, when the company has a local base for telephone, internet and wireless service.

    Good pay - hard work

Accounting Co-op (Former Employee) Cincinnati, OH

Prosgood pay, great location, lots of knowledge gained.

ConsSTRESSFUL, long hours, abused co-op (intern).

Advice to Senior ManagementWAY TOO MANY hours are expected to be put in by the intern. 50+ hours a week is ridiculous for a student to go through.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
