I worked at Cincinnati Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits and pay, loyal company, a lot of great people working there, and a strong focus on customer service. The company is growing and I think heading in the right direction.

    Cons

Office culture is stuffy, location is terrible in Fairfield Ohio, vacation package is weak, it takes an excessively long time to move to the upper ranks, leadership is generally set in their ways, few young people to add enthusiasm and life to the office, and few people from outside of greater Cincinnati. It's a very traditional company that has been slow to keep up with the times.

I worked at Cincinnati Financial as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Good benefits and perks for employers

    Cons

Employ a great number of contractors, especially in IT department. Much less incentive/job ownership can be observed.

    Pros

relaxed environment for a big company
opportunity to move into other departments if what you're doing isn't a good fit

    Cons

limited salary potential with annual raises 2-3%

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Cincinnati Financial as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Worked as a summer intern in the commercial lines underwriting department. Underwriting was a good place to start with no prior insurance knowledge, considering it is one of the most important parts of the Insurance industry.

    Cons

Very structured, alot of full time employees were over worked and didn't have much flexibility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to employee feedback.

I have been working at Cincinnati Financial full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Stability of company is a plus along with benefits that are offered. Training classes are also offered. Work hours are decent. Excellent lunch room options.

    Cons

Hard to be rewarded for your individual abilities and to advance against long time employees. Technology not used to fullest potential by employees. Training classes offered but no time to take them due to workload. HR does not seem to focus on individuals abilities and accept managers recommendations.

    I worked at Cincinnati Financial

    Pros

The company itself is a very nice place to work for. There are some very awesome people that work in the company. The company does have alot to offer.

    Cons

It's all on who you know to get were you are going to go 90% of the time. They pick who they like rather than see who is best qualified for a position. I still wonder to this day how did some of the employees get in certain positions that are are clearly not at all qualified for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be fair, Treat others how you would like to be treated. Be professional. Practice what you preach.
