I worked at Cinemark part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work was easy to do, nothing that required extensive training. A lot of team worked involved in the concession stands. Would have secret shoppers who would give us prizes if we initiated upselling of items.

    Cons

The theaters never close so it is hard to get holidays off. Sometimes were understaffed when it comes to cleaning theaters after the movies came out

    I worked at Cinemark

    Pros

You get free popcorn on your break or when you close concession for the night. 2 free tickets every work week is a plus.

    Cons

Sometimes the customers can be rude but just keep a positive attitude and you will be fine. The pay is minimum but you get a raise every year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The managers should be a little friendly with there employees. Some won't even say a word to you for years as you work there.

I have been working at Cinemark full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Free movies, discounted products, 401k for employees employed at least a year, flexible hours, and some hilarious stories.

Great for part time work for high school/college students.

    Cons

Low pay for management, conflicts of interests, and petty politics.

Assistant Managers get the shaft just about every time. AMs have all of the responsibility and none of the compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay managers more, or give better incentives to preform well. The majority of assistant managers are just using Cinemark for training, and resume building opportunities only to quit and move somewhere else.

Consider actually enforcing a no-fraternization rule between GMs, AMs, and employees.

I have been working at Cinemark part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great amenities, free movies, free popcorn and soda. A perfect high school, first time job! At times we were even paid to screen movies.

    Cons

The job can get pretty dirty. And we did not get new shirts that often which is unfortunate due to the filth we had to clean up sometimes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They were actually pretty nice, I really enjoyed working here.

    Pros

Room for advancement if you want to stay within the operations portion of the company.

    Cons

Hard to move into anything but operations and pay is low

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Coworkers support you when you fall down and help you pick yourself back up. Family!!

    Cons

Pay never goes above 8.25 for crew which is unfair to the good employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To the upper upper people who deal with stocks and the business or whatever. You guys need to find someway to pay your employees more. A lot of them come for the experience at working at a movie theater. Then they leave for many reasons, but the main one is the pay. Do something to fix this.

I have been working at Cinemark part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

First off this was a part time job for me so I liked the perk of free movies for something I wasn't devoting a lot of time to.

    Cons

Working closing shifts there was an expectation that you cant leave till everything is cleaned (most of the time closing by yourself). And on these solo nights they didnt work well with you with conflicting time schedules. Ie: I was approaching the maximum time to work in a day and mentioned that I was about to go over and if I could clock out. They said not till I'm done cleaning and they've inspected it. I finished cleaning. Clocked out (this was after the max time) and then got written up. I have military experience so I'm all about moving with a purpose and was not a slow worker. Regardless got that write up. Changed my schedule so I didn't work nights anymore because it was essentially a trap.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make it so employees never close alone.
