They laid off an entire department only to tell the employees they could be hired back through a temp agency

    Pros

They were understanding when i needed to take off for personal reasons

    Cons

They do not value their employees. They put people in charge of departments when they have no clue what the department does. They prefer to use temp agencies or to outsource their work instead of keeping dedicated employees. They do not like to give raises. They work good employees to death and promise them raises and bonuses they never receive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

understand that the employees are what is keeping your company alive.when you treat them like garbage and then throw them away you will end up with a company full of temps that do not give a care about your quality of work.

    Pros

Decent money to be made if you are willing to rip the customer off and work from 3 am to 6 pm

    Cons

Your pay will never be correct because they have idiots for managers who don't have a clue how to enter numbers properly, they will literal steal from you and you have no way to prove it because they are always right! If they tell you to make more sales or else and you go out and do that, it doesn't matter because they have already hired your replacement! This by far is the worst company in the world to work for! Hey partners, you are a dime a dozen in managements eyes! Oh and when you leave/terminate they won't pay you your commission or any vacation that you have earned! This company SUCKS!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Man the Hell Up and try going out into a stale territory and do our job! Then maybe you can have some respect for your SSR's

    Pros

    Plenty of work to do.

    Cons

Mandatory overtime for laborers. Horrible work/life balance. Would never recommend this company to friends since many times it mandated that you work Saturday and/or Sunday. Also workdays are usually 10 hours during the week. It's no fun having to be at work at 5AM for overtime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan the schedule better or hire additional workers to accomodate excess labor needs.

    Pros

Pay and health benefits. Hours were decent.

    Cons

Senior leadership treats employees horribly. No respect. Pressure to make quotas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire experienced senior management who respect those out in the field. Lead by example and be more ethical in your business practices.

    Pros

Insurance benefits were great. Money was good year 2 through 6. Vacations were nice to get away from the political bs.

    Cons

Constant pay plan changes, poor moral, unethical business practices by management, hit your goals or you're fired, work/life balance is non-existent. Price increases to customers every 3 months, lost/ruin charges out of control. Just to name a few.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go run a route one week out of the year, and see the crap you hand down the line. It might open your eyes to your board room.

    High Demands, Low Pay

    Pros

40 hour work week with weekends off.

    Cons

The pay is ridiculously low while the demands are high. I switched positions 2 months ago but I'm not even making what the position starts at. I'm expected to take over for other people, also with higher paying jobs, on a regular basis. Very little incentive to perform based on this alone.

Drivers at this location are rude, get in the way, make messes for others and still expect your help. I guess a sense of entitlement comes with the uniform.

In safety champion meetings, employees are encouraged to take matters with co-workers into their own hands. Management doesn't want to deal with that part of their job. In response to a comment made that not everyone was doing their morning stretches, the floor manager actually said "Legally we can't make them do the stretches, but we can peer pressure them into it."

The friendly facade wears thin but you can count on management dropping it whenever there's an opportunity to speak to you in a condescending tone. Which happens often. When the corporate people come in, they speak to the employees as though they're in kindergarten. It's embarrassing and demeaning.

Not enough time is given off for major holidays.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    PAY YOUR PEOPLE.
Set up labor grades, a basic rate of pay for each position, and give it to your employees the day they begin doing that job. The wages are at the root of your high turn over rate. People will work hard for you and overlook a lot of things if they're being paid a wage a person can actually live on.

Former Employee - Driver in Pittsburgh, PA

    Pros

Four day work week, four day work week, four day work week. The less time at this job the better!!!

    Cons

Every aspect of being a driver at this job is a con, unless you are a personal friend of someone in management or you kiss the pimples of off managements ass!

Let's put together a list of true aspects of the SSR position at Cintas

    1. Your truck will break down and not occasionally. You will break down because this cheap ass company doesn't maintain anything on their fleet. Their main focus is to keep the appearance up & thats it. The routine oil change wasn't even done. This doesn't sound to bad...right? Sit on the clock & get paid... right? not then, they called you "salesmen" you didn't get paid any extra & most of the time they would tow a truck to you, at that point you would have to cross load everything then finish your route hours later. I believe Cintas has to pay overtime now after losing a large class action law suite for not paying employees properly.

    2. Your pay will change for many different reasons. One would be loss of an account. It may be your own fault but not usually. If a very large account goes belly up, defaults on payment or leaves for any reason a large part of your pay goes with it. After you feel the affects in your pay, Cintas tells you to sell more at other accounts. Remember you're a salesman! Another way would be Cintas frequently changed goals, incentives, bonus pay, or the overall pay plan and pretty much changed anything pay related anytime they pleased
At one point drivers that covered a far distance were paid more to cover the lack of earning ability due to distance. That was removed & fair was not part of the equation.

    3. Product: Never had a full days worth of it. Missing products from uniforms, towels, paper products, soaps, mats and most supplies the customer pays for. You were never to credit a customer for this. If you could lie your way out of it every time, that was good enough for Cintas! Most drivers had morals and made it up the next day but you were short product for those customers & cycle continued.

The bottom line with Cintas is it's a corporation and the bottom line is most important. Not the customers or employees. They have things called "spirit day" and try to impose a "family like videos" that get rammed down your throat but it's smoke and mirrors. If you're not ripping off a customer with their sales promotions you better be an ass kisser! The benefits went from good to ok to go get your own.

Here's what most drivers said Cintas stood for: Constantly In Need of Towels And Supplies.

Most of our customers learned that saying the hard way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some morals! $5.00 no add fee?? How do you sleep at night? One of many ways corporate steals money from people and you clowns enforce it!!
