I worked at Cintas full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The hours are stable and they do value family issues and try to keep the people they have in there workplace. Good benefits, very friendly enviroment.

    Cons

Bad warehouse, safety first was the motto but seemed only when good for cintas well being. Pay was bad and not good enough for all the work related stress put on the warehouse workers. People aren't held accountable for what they do and so everyone is in trouble for the team effort. Partners are treated better than others so favoritism was acknowledged. Atmosphere felt as if nothing would ever go right and your position and growth is static

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Growth from within not inside out.

I worked at Cintas full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

True team management experience, Fun/fast paced, good people, health insurance is great, team atmosphere

    Cons

Salaried personal are expected to do jobs that hourly people should be doing. All salaried people are expected to work 60 hours a week. Salaried supervisors are expected to cover their hourly guys vacations 100%.As maintenance sup, with 6 guys covering shifts starting at 330am and ending at 11pm, and each guy having 4 weeks of vacation, thats 24 weeks a year that you are pulling double duty. It gets old very quickly. Management is hit or miss. My GM took 6 months to learn my name. He has under 20 salaried personal. My Plant manager was awesome but you can't complain to someone about working 60 hours a week when they are there before you and leave after you. There isn't any work life balance, it is simply Cintas all the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get outside talent. The peter principle is rampant here. If someone did good in one position, it doesn't mean that they will be good in a position that they are not qualified for. Take a hard look at safety and reliability. They intertwine so much and have the same knowledge base. Someone who is in charge of safety should have been the guy using LOTO and Live work permits at one time, so he fully understands the true hazards, not what the book says. Decide if you really want to pursue reliability the way its preached. Adding 60 hours of PM's a week to a schedule with out adding personal to do it and expecting the maintenance sup to "manage the workload better" while he is constantly covering for another sups vacation, one of his guys vacation, or running an extra shift because we are washing someone else's product isn't the right answer. Contract outside help that can help you reform what you expect and desire in a maintenance team.

I worked at Cintas full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good training, stable company, great co workers. You can make real business decisions and make immediate impact. A lot of lateral and vertical movement possible.

    Cons

Poor treatment of employees. Most management is poorly chosen, and inexperienced. Turnover is extremely high in all mid to upper management levels. To be successful you have to either know the right people, or decline promotions and fly under radar.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers with experience as leaders, not just people who spent time in the MT program.

I have been working at Cintas full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, good to have on your resume

    Cons

Knee-jerk response to operating business. Management is living in a fantasy land and plans business without hard data to support goals. Once the plan doesn't work they shuffle leaders around like musical chairs. Poor leadership has led to having to sell some of the most profitable divisions. They make promises to customers they don't intend to keep and have fallen from grace with some of there best accounts . Most unethical company I've ever worked for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of just looking at the surface, study great companies in detail to learn what works. Take the time and money to build a solid growth plan based on data, trends, etc. instead of what might sound good to the "street"
