I worked at Citi Trends part-time for more than a year
Pros – Very Few decent store managers.
Cons – Racial discrimination at the training store
Advice to Senior Management – For the store managers: Keep your chin up and keep applying to other jobs.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Citi Trends part-time for less than a year
Pros – I've worked at several great retail companies, and there was nothing good to say about this company. I really don't know how they are in business.
Cons – Too unprofessional: I was hired in and never told my starting pay, Never knew real names of the employees because they would never give out their names, Never read a training/policy manual, Was put on the schedule repeatedly on days I was unavailable (which is why I quit).
Advice to Senior Management – There needs to be adequate training for all associates starting with management, and there needs to be higher standards in who you employ.

I have been working at Citi Trends part-time for less than a year
Pros – There are no pros whatsoever.
Cons – You do not want to waste your time working for this company. The pay is a joke. They do not provide lunch breaks no matter how many hours you work in a shift. They do not offer any employee discounts. They slave you to death and no one appreciates you. Everyone talks bad about everyone. This is a company that only cares about making money from the cheap, ruined merchandise they sell. That is why the merchandise is so cheap because it is all damaged. Their is so much backstabbing and racial issues going on. Trust me, it is a company that is worth the bottom of my shoe. It will not stay in business much longer anyways. Management and District Management are clueless.
Advice to Senior Management – Seriously give mandatory 15 minute and 30 minute breaks. Try giving at least a 10% discount. Cut out the racial issues. Try paying employees something they can be proud of. Also just go out of business because the policies, regulations and merchandise suck.

I worked at Citi Trends part-time for less than a year
Pros – Any job is better than nothing...
Cons – Bad District Manager- Says she is going to find a new store manager, and had been saying it for months, never did.
Bad Manager- The manager is as bright as a burnt out light bulb. She would immediately talk bad about you as soon as you leave the store. Liked to turn employees against each other. She also lied through her teeth all the time. If you called out sick, she would cut your hours for the following week.
Minimum wage pay
no employee discounts.
Customers are rude 90% of the time
You work your butt off and no one gives you feedback.
Advice to Senior Management – First off, treat everyone with respect and stop being two faced. second, Make sure to use at least some common sense.

I worked at Citi Trends
Pros – The only good thing is you get to meet a handful of good people, that sometimes never come back.
Cons – There is too much abuse from some customers, associates and management. Most of the stores are located in the ghetto.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat your employees with respect and don't try to put down their self esteem, build them up to good progress.

I have been working at Citi Trends
Pros – Citi Trends has great operational hours. They are never the first store open or the last store closed in their area. This makes for a more safe environment for opening and closing.
Cons – Very poor communication between management staff in general. There seems to be a lack of professionalism within the stores, as knowledge necessary for operations tends to be leaked to floor staff, causing questions. There does not seem to be a sense of team spirit or fair play with all the stores in my area. Schedules are not set. Just because you're scheduled off at 9pm does not mean you will leave then. Expect to be there very late sometimes, especially the first of the month and around holidays.
Advice to Senior Management – Have better contact with your employees. Take their concerns and complaints to heart. Really listen to them. Some of us has concerns that are not being addressed by our immediate supervisors. We understand this is a bit of a cut-throat industry, but we feel as if our throats are the ones being cut. In my short time with the company, I've seen good people chased away from mistreatment, I've seen people making their own rules and going by them instead of the Citi Trends way. There is an obvious sense of dissatisfaction that needs to be addressed. Understand most of us do our best, and acknowledge what we do, even if it doesn't mesh with your ideals of what should have been completed. Sometimes, it's just not possible. Remember, with the economy being down, that we stay very busy regardless of what sales say. We could have a full floor of customers, but none of them can buy. That doesn't mean with our sales being down that we didn't actually do. We watched, recovered, and prevented everything we could. Sometimes it's just impossible to get it all done.

I have been working at Citi Trends
Pros – If you are starving and homeless its better than nothing or not having a job at all
Cons – no employee discount, bad management, poor working enviroment, work supplies in bad condition or not available at all, no rules or discipline in workplace
Advice to Senior Management – Hire better management, keep workplace supplies in working and safe condition, keep stores stocked with supplies, discipline or get rid of bad employees, offer more employee benefits, treat employees better
