Current Employee – been working at Citi Trends part-time for more than a year
Pros – The music keeps the day moving along quickly, easy job and easy learning the register and doing shipment and markdowns. A good first or second job for a younger person (18-22) while in college (if manager is willing to work around with school sch.) Dress code is pretty free and open just keep it dressy.
Cons – My "raise" was the minimum wage when it went up in 2012 and if I'm still there will probably be my "raise" for 2013. When I asked my manager once again about the assistant managers position s/he blew up at me and said s/he refused to promote me to assistant manager because "s/he felt s/he should not have to work around my school schedule". Many employees would quit without notice. Hours a scarce (could just be my store)
Advice to Senior Management – For sales associates such as myself who have never had a draw shortage, never had a customer complaint and has almost 2 years with the company, a raise should be within reason and definitely not too much to ask for
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Former Employee – worked at Citi Trends
Pros – Depending on your experience the pay is negotiable, which is good if your a good talker.
They offer lots of incentives and monetary bonus' for various programs and contest they do for the public.
Several opportunities for a bonus' per year for management.
Not a heavy workload.
Cons – They will cut associates down to 4hrs/week if sales are down; not good if you need a consistent amount for bills and things week to week.
Senior Management (DM's, LP, RVP) are very rude.
Senior Management only cares about cash, will approve the sale of damaged merchandise just to make a penny.
If you have one disagreement with ATL DM Arthur Morning then you can just about forget any positive things that were coming your way. Its a real, "My way or highway" type of gig.
Lots of gossip about associates and staff, and it never remains just in-house. What store #2 says about you, store #9 is going to know.
Advice to Senior Management – Try to get back in touch with the consumer you are targeting.
Put yourself in the place of some of your Associates, you cut their hours when sales are down; it makes it extremely hard to live when you dont know what your pay will be one week to the next.
I worked at a location that was held at gunpoint twice, you all wouldnt even give us time off to recoup, or a security guard, or any other security measure to insure our safety and well being; You have to care about your employees, You don't pay enough for us to jeopardize ourselves in this fashion.

Current Employee – been working at Citi Trends
Pros – Seeing freindly faces and the hours are manageable. If you are a peoples person you would love the interaction with different customers.
Cons – Every manager with exception of the store manager have been fired. Since I have been working there I have seen 7 people fired or quit.
Advice to Senior Management – Higher up managers should check with employees and listen to feed back from employees. Most managers are so concern with how themselves look.

Current Employee – been working at Citi Trends
Pros – Small but not too small of a company. there is a lot of room for growth. its a company where the workers still have some say in how things are done.
Cons – The compensation is hardly worth the job duties, if there wasnt a chance to move up i would probably move out. It is hard to support my family on the wages.
Advice to Senior Management – If they want a successful managent staff the need to offer a little more in the wages. it would help keep a steady management team for the stores.

Current Employee – been working at Citi Trends
Pros – Great pay and bonues, have a great team
Cons – not enough payroll, rude customers that the company sides with( we are threatened & cussed out all the time and the customer wins really) , to much duplicate paperwork, worried about internal theft not external theft there is both, not enough tools to properly securre a store, no trraining hours for new employees
Advice to Senior Management – more payroll and listen to your management about the threats we get daily, stop with all the duplicate paperwork it is a waste of time, get an easier hiring process less time consuming worker friendly, give more training hours that don't coun't against your payroll
