ProsCitibank offers very good benefits and 401k contribution matches. They are also very fair towards medical leaves. I was diagnosed with depression and twice Citi gave me a month off paid. This position in particular is very easy and customers thank you all day, you are also very empowered to take care of most client situations unless its a high dollar amount (9/10 of every billing dispute is low dollar amounts).

ConsCredit card customers are often difficult to reason with. Simple concepts like "permanent means forever" and "1-1=0" sometimes lead to 20 minute arguments with them.

San Antonio, TX

Current Employee – been working at Citibank as a contractor for more than a year

ProsIt's a very laid back enviroment, the schedules are very flexible, you can get home access, they do a lot of team spirit on the entire site, they do employee appreciation months and get discounts on food plus they have neverending shuttles all year round they can take to you car and pick you up from it (raining, cold, freezing...)

ConsThere is a lot of down time so you do some more reading but it can become stagnant. There is not much opportunity for growth.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagers are great with questions and answers.

Roy, UT

Current Employee – been working at Citibank full-time for more than a year

ProsGreat benefits package starts at hire date. They offer to work from home, which is great. Upper management really cares about their employees and from my personal experience, really want to keep you as an employee and want to see you happy and productive.

ConsLow starting salary, prior experience is not considered, which was disappointing. Hard to move up in the company, mostly lateral moves.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the great managers! Give them more authority to give monetary incentives.
