“Remember to recognize existing employees and promote from within.”
Current Employee – been working at Citicorp Credit Services, Inc.
Pros – There are many talented people there, and lots of opportunities to do some interesting work.
Cons – Unfortunately, the work is hampered by lots of bureaucracy. Often times, corporate politics, rather than results, determine who gets ahead. The infrastructure is antiquated. Too little attention is paid to strenthening the long term health of the company. Every project is reviewed for quick pay back without thought to investing in long term growth. Recent layoffs contributed to severe morale issues; just waiting for the other shoe to drop in 2009.
Advice to Senior Management – Take the longer view; remember it's easier and more profitable to sustain and grow existing customers than to acquire new ones. Same goes for nurturing and developing current employees.
