    Pros

I chose to work for Citizens because there was a tremendous opportunity for me to build something from the ground up. It's not too often that you can work for a well established company and have the flexibility to share and execute on your ideas.

My team has very strong leaders that are supportive and thoughtful in their vision and goals. They take the time to recognize performance, they work to create career opportunities, they laugh and have fun, and they are transparent. I'm very thankful for them and for our team.

I think our benefits overall are average but the PTO and flexible work locations is excellent.

    Cons

The technology is not good. Our systems are slow, we still use IE8 as a default browser which is a nightmare for my work, half the time we can't get on a webex with vendors because it doesn't work with our systems and there are at least 10 different logons for the different tools we use. I would also say our work location is not very nice. There are not enough conference rooms for teams to use, people are crammed into small spaces and there isn't a cafe in an area where there are very few outside places to eat.

    Advice to Management

Continue to support colleagues through these challenging times of transition away from RBS. The cuts are challenging so be thoughtful on what you cut and the impact on colleagues.

    Pros

Paid time off, flexibility with schedule in most locations, benefits package, and growth opportunities...

    Cons

Sales pressure with heavy micromanaging, understaffed branches

    Advice to Management

No idea where to begin.. But we could start with bringing back the PTO that was cut recently

    Pros

Citizens is separating from the Royal Bank of Scotland becoming a stand alone US Regional Bank. It's a transformative time which is bringing about a lot of unique opportunities for colleagues. Great time to join if you like to execute and drive change!

    Cons

Colleagues need to be ready for change as the transformation can be challenging for some.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on continuous improvement to drive results & living Citizens' Credo. That will ensure long term success for the bank!

    Pros

Customers love the Bank. As a recently independent company, a great deal of excitement and energy about the future permeates the Bank. This is a Bank with a growth culture when many banks are shrinking.Strong financial capital ensuring stability.

    Cons

Historical inadequate investment in infrastructure has resulted in very manual and inadequate processes and systems. Data structures are quite weak. Certain Staff processes/capabilities that are standard for this size company are absent.

    Advice to Management

Need major "sustained" investment over 3 to 5 years into technology and process design. Limiting talent locations to RI/Boston is hurting the pool. Learn to use remote workers with specific needed talents more often.

    Pros

Great benefits, stock purchase option and ability to grow. They care about the opinion of us colleagues and actually make changes based upon our feedback.

    Cons

Turnover is tough, but not different from any other retail sales job. The turnover makes it difficult to have fully staffed regions. Even if your branch is fully staffed there's almost zero chance the region is, in turn makes you cover other branches and shorten your own staff.

    Advice to Management

I think that the management is doing a good job. Possibly limit many changes at the same time. We are all for new and improved products and processes but at times can be overbearing.

    Pros

I don't have anything positive to say. I have been asking my husband to close his accounts since I started here.

    Cons

Every person I've met does what's right for his or her pocket, not for the client. How many accounts can one client have. I don't think senior management has a clue about what is going on in the branches. Oh, and don't expect the lending process to go smoothly. The only people I see advancing don't do what's right for the client. How can you let someone like that be a leader and train others?

    Advice to Management

Coach to client engagement through proper profiling; not to account openings and annuity sales.
