I have been working at Citrix Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Citrix says it is an ethical company that believes in its values, and it follows through on that commitment. Benefits are competitive. Work is challenging but never a "grind you to death" situation like some other major tech companies. The company is huge and promotes mobility.

    Cons

As a company traded on the stock market, it is under constant pressure to perform quarter over quarter, sometimes this pressure can interfere with long term goals.

    Advice to Management

Just keep being awesome. I had a problem with my health insurance wanting to deny payment for a surgery that my wife had, that was in-network. They were billed as "out of network" for the surgeon's assistant, and were not willing to negotiate over it. I ended up emailing HR and the CEO of Citrix, Mark Templeton, and he personally replied in 45 minutes and helped me get it straightened out. This is a beautiful example of how Mr. Templeton and Citrix actually do care about every one of their employees, and I am proud to work for this company. My advice to management is you should never lose that awareness that your employees are your most valuable asset.

I have been working at Citrix Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Innovative and team oriented company that allow careers to grow and develop. Mobility is encourage so it is relatively easy to fine tune your skills with what business needs. Products are really cool and there is a lot of opportunity if you have the leadership spirit.

    Cons

Due to market changes there is a lot of pressure for share results. Citrix is working on implementing restructuring and that is causing good talent to leave the company, but the side effect is more opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Continue transparency on restructure. Continue focus on One Citrix vision. Implement better SDLC and focus on product sun-setting so company is not holding back.

I have been working at Citrix Systems full-time

    Pros

    - Young and fun co-workers - Potential to make decent money - 4 weeks of PTO is nice on paper - Reputable name to put on your resume - Well-defined career path/great place to start your career - Still an industry leader

    Cons

    - Culture of heavy partying and drinking - Technology is still relevant but not as modern or robust as it once was - If you are in sales, prepared to feel like a book of business and nothing more - 8:30 - 6 may be "work hours", but be prepared to live at the office, especially end of month/quarter/year (hope you like staying at the office until midnight on NYE) - Despite company core values, no work from home/flex options for sales team

    Advice to Management

Cut the Wolf of Wall Street act. While similar sized companies like Salesforce and Google empower their employees and trust them to get their work done, you resort to the opposite. Let your sales team work the way they most feel comfortable, provided they hit their numbers.
