Current Employee – been working at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – There are a lot of great people who work at CCF. Great benefits.
Cons – The health insurance has degraded since I started 5 years ago. Unfortunately, there is often management roulette - sometimes great management, sometimes horrible management. Figuring out which department falls into which management bucket is the tricky part of working at CCF. Work life balance is not important to management.
Advice to Senior Management – Get down into the trenches and listen intently to our rank and file. Sometimes making a positive difference is just listening and implementing small changes. Grandiose, enterprise-wide measures are often inefficient.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Some of the best benefits out there. Health benefits are the best, educational assistance is also excellent. They even have adoption assistance. There are plenty of opportunities for in-house education.
Cons – You cannot move up. Management gives employees management answers, i.e. "that will be going away," "there's someone looking into that."
Advice to Senior Management – Promote from within. You spend a great deal of money on educating employees and teaching them company values, use them.
– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Benefits are good, training excellent and ability to make a lot of great friends! If you are motivated, you have ability to participate in national training.
Cons – Worked there a long time. Senior management will point blame versus take accountability. There is a lot of staff turnover and it was often difficult to do my job because I was always training new staff. Job is physically and mentally exhausting.
Advice to Senior Management – Hold senior management accountable and treat great therapists well for staff retention

Current Employee – been working at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Big company, plenty of advancement opportunities.
Decent health plan.
Industry leader.
Cons – Too many layers of management to get things done.
PTO (paid time off) could be better...workers are expected to use PTO for holidays, acts of god like snowstorms, power outages. CC is the ONLY organization in Cleveland that expects employees to use PTO for acts of God.
Too many inexperienced manager that treat hourly staff like dirt.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to the front line staff doing the job and learn from them, Enhance the PTO benefit why should holidays be taken from your PTO account.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – -Unique patient populations.
-Resources.
-Complex politics.
-Large state of the art campus.
Cons – -Very physicican oriented.
-Management/Nursing leadership.
-Below average salary.
-Nurses are undervalued.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay more attention to the advice and opinions of your front-line nurses. I understand that management and administrators were once in the infancy of their careers, but healthcare is evolving.

Former Employee – worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Supportive of individual professional development
Management Salaries are competitive to the industry
Smart docs, great nurses, saving lives of patients!
Cons – Don't respect and appreciate loyalty of employees who dedicated their careers to CCF
Turn over in leadership/admin positions, bringing in young, bright recent grads ( 5 yrs or less work experience) and putting them in leadership roles without alot of experience managing people. Employees over 50 yrs old are disappearing!!!! Mysteriously leaving, retiring, outplaced?

Current Employee – been working at Cleveland Clinic full-time
Pros – Experience, benefits, financially solid organization
Cons – pay, bureaucracy, cliques, petty employees
Advice to Senior Management – Reward your true top performers and not your brown nosers; hire based on merit and skills and not on how well one bad-mouths and gossips; employ psychological and technical skills testing in your hiring process; promote from within

Current Employee – been working at Cleveland Clinic part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Some incentives are good if you're full time or make enough money. Some employees are nice and grateful to each other. They are a lot of smiles and greetings whether you are a stranger or not.
Cons – Parking rates increase yearly (but no one's responsible for what happens to your car while parked.) Depending on what position you're in management is rude and ungrateful. Some doctors can be rude to other employees. Higher positions always want to tell on lower positions when they won't bend their rules for them.
Advice to Senior Management – Realize that without the little people too, this place and your job cannot function. So they count just as much as you do and deserve respect.

Former Employee – worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time for less than a year
Pros – Great benefits and decent pay, unless you are management.
Cons – With so many people working at The Clinic, you can feel like a number. Very difficult to get promoted as well.
