    Best of intentions

Learning and Development Consultant (Current Employee) Cleveland, OH

ProsGreat people to work with. Leadership generally open to individual strengths.

ConsSometimes don't walk the talk. Too much focus on leadership training and not enough on the front line development. Could use more OD interventions on all levels: individual, small group, and organization wide strategies.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow for different perspectives and get rid of status hierarchy. Don't discount what people bring to their jobs from former experiences.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

A very difficult transition with no "on boarding' process at all and no indoctrination as to the working protocols.

Senior Director (Former Employee) Cleveland, OH

ProsIt was amazing to witness the healing and recovery work from catastrophic illness. The experience enlightened me as to the challenges of administering care

    Cons-The politics
    Rule by innuendo
    no forum for conflict resolution
    -Costs before comprehensive care
    -Sporadic infrastructure applications
-Consider deferred salary structure to keep incomes from tax devastation

Advice to Senior Management-Listen to more than one viewpoint, weigh the complications of a decision
-Consider patient care first, not just a rhetorical comment.
-DO away with the antiquated management style of governess
-Get a better understanding of manipulative behaviors by rumor and innuendo
-Dispel the environment of fear, it is counter productive to empathy and recovery.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Rewarding Experience

Systems Analyst (Former Employee) Cleveland, OH

ProsMaking a difference in patients' lives is at the heart of what all Cleveland Clinic employees do, which can be a very rewarding experience.

ConsThe Clinic is very large, it's easy to overgeneralize. Its system is very hierarchical with the usual red-tape and politics. The HR department is often moving at glacier speed. Some career tracks in IT are underdeveloped or not competitive enough. Institutes, as well as their departments, have different cultures. As always, it depends on the people you end up working with whether it's going to be a positive experience.

Many opportunities for driven RNs, excellent benefit package.

Staff RN (Current Employee) Cleveland, OH

ProsChallenges, unique patient problems, world class medical specialists. Education, innovation, teamwork are some of the values and the quality of the care proves it.

ConsLong commute from suburbs, pay for parking, unstable upper nursing leadership in recent (10 years) means frequently changing priorities.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe weekend incentive program for RNs was discontinued in 2014. This created great personal financial burden for the individuals who were previously in that program. I hope the organizational gains from cutting this program have been worth the burden placed on the individuals.

Great health benefits, career ladder is frustratingly haphazard

    Non-Staff Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBest benefits I've ever seen and great training opportunities. You get out what you put into it in the HR department.

ConsSenior management uses the "nothing moves fast here" too often. Not a lot of room for growth in certain departments, specifically Benefits/Health/Wellness.

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter management of employees in a female only department. Sometimes working in an almost all female work place can lead to a less effective work environment.

    front desk Medical administrative assistant

Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) Cleveland, OH

ProsMy position was in the ER department so we stayed at a fast paced and stayed mostly organized. Some days we had to work with patients independently and keep files completed for nurses assistant.
I learned more about computer programs and office equipment. Received more education on insurance plans.
With interacting personally with registered patient's here able to explain all there rights to privacy, HIPPA and insurance.

Consoffice equipment would run slow. Prior Policies weren't completely explained to some patients and patient's family members. work schedule varied

Advice to Senior ManagementManager of Administration should be more organized. Check on team working under procedures.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
