    Pros

Worked out of the office everyday. Interesting customers that you form professional relationships with that challenges you to select the right mix of products for their business. Compensation of 38,000 to start with yearly raises. You are only in the office for maybe half an hour at the beginning and end of your sales route to fill out necessary paperwork. Everyone I worked with were professional and decent, hardworking co-workers. Support from management depended on the specific individual from excellent to non-existent.

    Cons

You worked alone on the road which would seem independent, but in truth, you have very limited authority to make deals and sell.. You are really just an order taker with a scheduled route that never changes and grows old very quickly. Not very challenging. Alot of pressure to get customers to buy product that doesn't benefit their business just to meet quotas set at corporate level. Lots of accountability and responsibility without the necessary authority or empowerment.

    Advice to Management

Empower your sales force to truly sell by providing more support in the form of product placement and pricing.

    Pros

The company has a great reputation in the community. Also, many of the employees were very pleasant.

    Cons

Career advancement was practically impossible unless you personally knew or were related to someone who could influence a hiring decision. Talent was not adequately rewarded. If you exceeded expectations, you were required to do more with neither a promotion nor additional compensation. Annual increases were very low 2 - 3%.

    Pros

    Great employees. Good benefits.

    Cons

Work life balance is horrible. They want you to put work first - everything else doesn't matter.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people. Value your current, hardworking and very loyal employees.

    Pros

For promotion, it was fair, if you keep polishing yourself up, you will have chances to apply for better positions and pay(but still a lot lower than other companies would pay). Of course, you'll have to pass oral tests and interviews by at least 3 people. The training is provided all the time, and Coke supported your advanced education. (don't know about now)

    Cons

I felt my every minute at Coke was monitored by the management. The atmosphere was like at elementary school or semi-military. Everything appeared very generous and free, yet it was under strict control. We had to work very hard but still didn't get any raise. We were not allowed (informal rule for everybody) to wear blue/red/white at some normal occasions because it is Pepsi's colors. The manager warned us not to discuss our pay and raise anytime, even privately. Even short Chatting will be warned, and there were penalty after the 3rd tardiness in a month...a lot of overtime and endless deadlines...

    Advice to Management

The management style was so old-school and silly. I am a self-starter, but it just turned me off by listening to their rules and announcements. Also, benefits and higher pay are more encouraging than company potluck and birthday party.

    Pros

In this position, you get to work with great customers and really set up a network of professional people that you can continually build on throughout your career.

    Cons

Long hours, very physically demanding. Too many bosses with different opinions of what needs to be done, without a clear description of what should be.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the worker bees, they are the ones who interact with the customers on a daily basis and know what they need and want to continue a successful business partnership.

    Pros

Free products are given on a regular basis.

    Cons

No consistent schedule, inexperienced management, pay rate subpar to industry standard, long hours with no overtime

    Advice to Management

Your employee experience should be synonymous with the status of this mega company, and to achieve that, you have a very long way to go!!
