Former Employee – worked at Cognizant Technology Solutions full-time for less than a year
Pros – - A wealthy and prosperous company
- high-end summer training program for recent grads
Cons – - Too big of a company, you are literally a cog in a machine
- Very little incentive to move up at all, strictly a resume builder
Advice to Senior Management – - Pay more attention to your college grads - they may have more to offer than just labor.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Cognizant Technology Solutions full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – 1. Lot of projects both at offshore and onsite, so you would hardly be out of project.
2. Insuance and other regular benefits.
Cons – 1. Not employee friendly anymore. It used to be very much employee friendly some 8 - 10 years back. Now it is more of revenue friendly.
2. Just 10 days of annual leaves at onsite !! And if you take those to pay a once a year visit to your home country , you can't take any more for rest of the year as you are out of leaves
3. Lets not talk about Salary. One of the lowest paying companies. Very low salary structure both in onsite and offshore. But higher management earns a lot. Just like how politicians knows how to fill their pockets. Well whats the point of showing XXX billion dollar companies by giving peanuts to employees who work day and night and hold the bone of the company ?
4. Horrible appraisal process. To become a manager, you need to first show XXX number of revenue addition.
5. Most of the managers have become managers due to lobby so ineficient non employee friendly guys are at the management position. rest you know the results.
Advice to Senior Management – Plz plz plz make policies to make this company employee friendly.
Please increase the vacation time from just 10 days to atleast 20 days a year, so that as majority of the employees at onsite are away from their families, they would get a chance to meet their families once a year and have few days off remaining to do work life balance in the remaining of the year.
– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Cognizant Technology Solutions full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Some of the work done is good. If you are lucky to get those projects
Cons – You need to be smart with Politics to survive

Current Employee – been working at Cognizant Technology Solutions full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – You will be able to gain knowledge.
Cons – Hell lot of politics. I've been with Cognizant for the past many years and 3 projects. Each of the projects had middle management issues and lot of politics. You should know how to oil ur manager to be in his good books...Don't join Cognizant looking at it's growth, it's at the personal expense of good junior employees' personal lives.
Advice to Senior Management – U should care about people's personal lives, atleast be true to them. Don't lie to employees. And don't pretend u r helping, coz u r not.

Current Employee – been working at Cognizant Technology Solutions full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – -Some of the benefits are good.
-Free culture.
Not much to mention though.
Cons – If you move from one account to other your career is finish. There is no way you can bring the legacy if the old account to new account. They will treat you as new hire although salary will not change (:)).
If you come from off shore getting visibility and promotion is very very rare. They do give the promotion but to very stingily and to selective people. No matter what is your capability and no matter what you do for the account.
HR is like none existence, your manager is your God father. Make or break depends upon him. Although to say there is a appraisal process but to me it looks useless.
If you wish to go new technology or change domain it not possible straight. Once you get released at that time they ask your preference and thats it.
Also the pros and cons depends on account to account.
Advice to Senior Management – Look to retain the expert people in the accounts.

Current Employee – been working at Cognizant Technology Solutions full-time
Pros – Best among the Indian IT service majors. More or less relaxed work schedules throughout the firm i.e. work-life balance in the hands of the employee. Multiple variety of opportunities available 'on paper' to pursue.
Cons – Stagnant pay cycles for existing employees. HR and workforce structures need a complete overhaul. Mis-aligned employee staffing within the company across geographies.

Current Employee – been working at Cognizant Technology Solutions full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Large number of projects. You can't get laid off, reason being they will not be able to get resource, in future, at such a cheap rate
Cons – Employee satisfaction and care is least priority.
No value to employee's personal life. Will compel you to work daily late night hours/weekends.
Worst they offer no comp-offs for work done on weekends/late nights.
Even company is growing but employee growth is next to null
Advice to Senior Management – Take care of your employees who help your company grow
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
