    Pros

Technology training. Fair products. Marketing. Privately held.

    Cons

Long hours including weekends & evenings. Poor management. Questionable ethics.
Inexperienced leaders. Poor performance style and no career advancement.
This a a "good ole' boy atmosphere" that is run by politics and popularity contests.
This company does not place any value on their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start being leaders and start elevating your team to upper level
management. To many mangers are placing emphasis on clawing their
    way to the "global team".

    Pros

I am still employees as of today. Who knows what the future holds.

    Cons

Where do I begin. They push furthering your education because they say they promote with in. The only a that get promoted in with upper management. A lot of the management doesn't even an associates degree.
They say that employees matter. When does that benefit become available. We work 12 hours a day and are forced to work weekends. We have to request vacation time for our scheduled day off.

Must I continue with the cons?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. We are the ones who have to manufacture the product and are here 72 hours a week to help you get your bonuses.

Former Employee - SAP Business Process Analyst in Joliet, IL

    Pros

--Mature SAP system with good opportunity to see a number of standard and custom business processes with large volume
    --Strong manufacturing planning expertise

    Cons

--Uskilled people managers in the IT department create a culture that's very closed and that does not value diversity of thought or other diversity in employees. My experience was negative in terms of culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

--Clean out your IT house and start again with professional IT folks who actually know how to be people managers as well. There are a ton of great people in the marketplace and you could build on your strengths to create a really great, supportive IT culture.
--"The Business" treats its people well; IT folks are not valued as much - note the large attrition from IT in 2011-2012

    Pros

You don't have to pay for parking (surprising for as cheap as this company is!)
    Cafeteria is quite nice
    It's a paycheck

    Cons

They say that Carlyle is good at cost-cutting... it's hard to believe there is any more costs left to cut once the good ole boy machine (aka - everyone knows that is Hickory!) got rid of them.

This used to be an awesome company to work for (when it was Andrew). Now, manager's work you like crazy to make THEM look good and they never give the recognition which you are do after making them look good. Manager's didn't necessarily change per se - I mean, some did, - but rather the Hickory mentality slowly trickled in the doors of Andrew :(

I hope that the machine in Hickory is rocked to it's very core once Carlyle takes over and they get a taste of their own medicine! Perhaps they'll even close down Hickory - that would be sad............... all those VP's applying at Wal-Mart and Wendy's.........

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop acting like dictators and start acting like manager's and recognizing that the people on the lower levels are WHY you are WHERE you are in your career.

    Pros

The pros dwindle every moment. The people are the strength of this company yet, the management doesn't get that.

    Cons

The management of this company couldn't be more negligent and clueless if they tried at it. Every supervisor who was able to add input has been let go. There is nothing more frustrating than taking pride in a job and trying to improve with a superior who lacks the person skills to understand or listen to the improvements a seasoned employee could add. Long hours and poor healthcare also top the list. Also, 150 positions left to China in 2011 and more will follow

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce the size of the management pool and keep the people who care about the business. Instead of following your failure of a business model that you no doubt will ride into foreclosure
