    Pros

CHS is a wonderful company to work for. Great leadership. Although, at times they operate as 6 different divisions

    Cons

I would suggest anyone who works at CHS take a course on how to handle the politics!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage leadership to treat everyone fairly--stop favoritism.

I worked at Community Health Systems full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly atomsphere and environment. Employees are very conscientious about patient care because of high percentages needed from patient assessments. Hospital floors are usually very quiet.

    Cons

Had a very good experience of really loving what I did and found the work-life balance suitable. Like many hospitals today their concern is about making enough profit to sustain operations. My particular job saw a high percentage in turnover of patients in and then out of the hospital. This keeps the hospital employees very busy in maintaining high patient occupancy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much micromanaging done by some manager. Too much breeds mistrust and discontent. Some managers need continuing education on how to manage properly and courteously to their employees. Great communication skills are an important asset in maintaining wonderful employee-management relationships. More can be done to make some operations run much more smoothly and efficiently. Employees should never have to come and work in a stress-filled environment because of poor managers.

    Pros

Great co-workers. Good structure. Expectations were communicated clearly.

    Cons

There was some diversity in work ethic of the team yet all were managed the same. Management did not seem to recognize some were more dedicated and wanted more work. Everything was kept on a even field. A bit of distrust by management because of a few who took advantage of the system.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward and acknowledge those who are working very hard. Do not be skeptical of everyone. Keep up the good training and communication of expectations. Allow people to expand, learn and grow. Celebrate and encourage the things some are good at and let them expand in those areas. Keep other doing what they are good at. Overall you will have a strong team. I think they were working towards this and I was there in the early stages of things being set up. Overall was a good place and they were really trying to be a great department.
