I worked at Compass Group Canada (More than a year)

    Pros

    Nice salary and nice place

    Cons

They seem to hire friends over proven employees that were there for a long time.

I worked at Compass Group Canada as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked there for a co-op term and learned a lot. They really encourage you to take a leadership role to make sure you learned every facet of the industry. Pay was also really great for just a co-op term. Made about $17.50 an hour.

    Cons

Very corporate, worked on a project for 4 months only to have the whole thing scrapped and have a pre-built solution implemented

    Advice to Management

A lot of the meetings we had were useless

    Pros

lot of choices where to work and around the world! great opportunities to move up the ladder can add a lot of years working in the company without leaving it.

    Cons

working a lot of hours for big events

    Advice to Management

taking the opportunity to get out in the units and doing behind the scenes. Sometimes working behind the scenes instead of managing you can appreciate what they do and have a different outlook!

I worked at Compass Group Canada full-time

    Pros

They were very respectful of priorities such as taking time off for family, sicknesses, or especially school. Scheduling was easy and flexible, with good means for communication with changes.

    Cons

Catty managerial staff, drama at work, highly maintained gossip circles, exclusion. New people were treated like the dirt under your shoes unless you brown nosed your way to their respects.

    Advice to Management

Promote managerial staff that are not so two-faced. I was never a victim of the cruel treatment myself, but the majority of the managerial staff were over-the-top nice with the district manager, but spiteful and angry when his back was turned.
