I have been working at Compass Group

    Pros

Good benefits Worked with some great hourly employees

    Cons

Incompetent Upper Management More paperwork than actually being a chef Told to work 13 hours if thats what it takes to get everything done and salaried pay so no OT

I worked at Compass Group part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible enough for a college student, compensation is above minimum wage but below those with experience, almost always hiring, night and weekends off

    Cons

Under par compensation for various positions, not much else to say about the cons, really. I'd still be working for the company if it paid more. Equipment was regularly down or malfunctioning.

I have been working at Compass Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

nice people to work for, when you leave work you are tired if you are older, we have nice benefits. they are willing to work with you if there is a problem or a family emergency,

    Cons

if you don't suck up to management, you don't get away with things, we don't get overtime usually training is one day and people who smoke, get more breaks than the ones that don't,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the only thing i have to say is that the older generation are hard workers, they have alot of knowledge respect them and have the younger ones learn from them if they want to respect their jobs, working is hard and nobody said it is easy,

    Pros

Cooking the meals for the students, and staff was very rewarding, change from the company before to this one was understandable for business. Tried to please the students, and staff with what they felt they wanted to eat.

    Cons

After the change we lost a couple of key employees, but due to enrollment issues some of the educational staff was let go.
