I have been working at CompuCom full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

CompuCom has successfully navigated through market shifts/changes while keeping company culture and employee and customer satisfaction at it's core. Management has been very supportive, open and honest. I have seen many decisions made in the interest of retaining top talent. CompuCom is also very flexible with offering remote work solutions.

    Cons

CompuCom has had to make some tough decisions to remain profitable and competitive in the marketplace. This has sometime negatively impacted some of the benefits and compensation options for current associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to remain focused on company culture and on open, honest communication.

    Pros

Good benefits, promotion opportunities. If you want a job in the IT industry, this is the place with unlimited potential. If you punch the clock and just do your job, you will not be happy. Volunteer for projects, get your certifications, excel, and you will be promoted.

    Cons

Some insecurities because it is an outsourcing company so clients could leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on delivering value to the client first and foremost.

I have been working at CompuCom as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

I have enjoyed working with CompuCom. Although I was assigned to a short-term contract position, it afforded me the opportunity to display additional skills as well as seeing parts of the country for the first time. I look forward to continuing my relationship with this company.

    Cons

The only con would be that these have been short term and a longer term position is my ultimate desire. But, I am enjoying the association.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am available, willing and able to take on additional assignments and look forward to the opportunity to do more.

I worked at CompuCom full-time for less than a year

    Pros

CompuCom has excellent recruiters who follow through on their committments to match positions to experience. The recruiters and managers are proactive in assisting with new positions rather than waiting until the very end of contracts and are also clear communicators

    Cons

There appears to be a limited number of positions in local companies and a large pool of candidates with the agency. Insurance benefits are fair at best, though they are available.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seek more local companies for collaboration and maket the up-side of having vendors.

    Pros

Great benefits, provides everything needed for the job (Transportation, Tools, Parts, etc.)

    Cons

Attempting to many projects at one time, with out clear instructions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know employees better and no what knowledge they know when you hire them. If they know more then is needed for the job, help them use the knowledge to their and the companies benefit.

I worked at CompuCom full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very good documentation for migration or deployment steps, every step is documented and stored in intranet sites. Multiple copies of Peoplesoft or DBA update steps.

    Cons

DBA's are scattered across the globe, both US and off shore teams can be difficult to contact when an on call issue comes up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Very good training programs for DBA's and a lot of help for On Call DBA teams.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits overall, hassle free biweekly paycheck, work with you for employee retention for the next project - meaning does bench if they think you are worth it. Very professional

    Cons

401k is not worth it but it does starts the day of employment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep in touch with your employees more often, know what the market rate for employees and compensate accordingly.

I worked at CompuCom full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good benefits for time off.

    Cons

No raises were given in the past three years. Company bought and there was a lack of information on direction. Seem like upper management wanted to keep the profits to them-self.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Share the wealth, given no raises to a group of employees that has worked very hard for the contract seem unfair. There is a disconnect with upper management and employees.
