    Pros

Great company to work for. You learn a lot and can easily move up within the company. great benefits. I worked for CSC over 6 years and loved it.

    Cons

A lot have changed over the years with many good people being laid-off. This is not to say that CSC is not a good company anymore.

    Advice to Management

Improve your contracts department process, so you can retain more of your contracts.

    Pros

Excellent Work Environment and Experienced Colleagues.
    Good Benefits.
    Global Exposure within short time.
    Learning curve is great.
Great Management Team to lead the company in correct direction.

    Cons

There is room to improve communications to all its employees. As the size of the company is very big, it will be a very challenging task to keep everyone in sync.

    Pros

Working for CSC gives you great exposure to the consulting and outsourcing area.
You get exposure to the most efficient processes and technology.
    Work from home opportunities exist,

    Cons

Be weary of a "bad contract". Every year during a contract, CSC has to show saves in terms of discounts, If the particular engagement is unable to produce "saves", that's when trouble happens.

    Advice to Management

I personally feel that more work must be done into looking at the terms of the contract.

    Pros

Global compny, strong on internals systems and processes. Smart knowledgeable colleagues.

    Cons

The new management that took over the operations a couple of years back, does not fully understand the industry and the capability of the employees and sometimes blindly do what the CEO tells them to do.

    Advice to Management

The new management thinks all the old timers in CSC are non performers. This is unfortunate

    Pros

CSC is huge. There's lots of opportunity to move both vertically and horizontally. In my particular division of the company the management is very hands-off and lets their people deal with customers directly. They support us and help us with sensitive issues or with paperwork. The autonomy is extremely helpful for those of us that are skilled professionals and don't need a middle-manager breathing down our necks.

    Cons

CSC is huge. You will need to actively pursue the information you need. If you are the type that wants very clear direction and to be told exactly what needs to be done then you may get frustrated. I should note that this only applies to my particular division, I don't know what the rest of CSC is like.

    Advice to Management

A Buddy-System would be extremely appreciated. Especially for government contractors. I've seen people get lost in the mire of training and paperwork that gets tossed at them when they first start and it can be overwhelming.

Dispersed work force makes it hard to build relationships

    Pros

CSC offers a variety of opportunities if you're willing to put in the effort to prepare for and pursue them.

    Cons

Assessments of client engagements that don't fall in line with what sales has described are common, but management doesn't want to hear about potential problems, even if it's with the intent to prevent bigger problems.
