Toronto, ON (Canada)

Current Employee – been working at Computershare full-time for more than a year

ProsManagement is dedicated to supporting your career development. Work hard play hard environment. Reasonable in terms of expectations, and flexible as long as you are meeting those expectations. Exposure to many technologies and industries.

ConsBureaucratic in some areas. But that has a positive side: it is better having a system in place, as you know what to expect and what your responsibilities are. Also, as a provider of Financial Services, this is normal.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

ProsOpportunities everywhere in the business. You need to make it happen yourself though. Look for a supportive manager or speak with HR to map out options for career development, or perhaps a secondment in another department.
The open office environment takes a little getting used to, but is generally a good thing that fosters interaction and tries to break down the walls of siloed businesses.

ConsWhile the remuneration is okay, it's often not quite at market rates. However, there is a balance as the work environment is fairly relaxed, supportive and professional.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet amongst the 'little people' more and talk directly to them - not only via email or middle managers. Senior management's face amongst the teams does wonders to encourage enthusiasm and lets the staff see that management acknowledges their efforts.
