Pros – Great co-workers. Nice HQ. Awesome potential.
Cons – Dominating status quo. Lack of effective career development or employee engagement practices.
Advice to Senior Management – PLEASE stop overlooking and dismissing blatant systemic issues. Get people other than senior management involved in the change management process. Be more informative of changes that affect the workforce.

Pros – Most of the people I work with are smart and willing to work to accomplish a common goal.
Cons – Too many politics. Too many (using an old term) FOP. Inability or unwillingness to get an employee trained on one of our own products. AMAZING!!! With Bob Paul's rise things seem to have gotten better in some areas but there is a long way to go
Advice to Senior Management – COMMUNICATE real information, not just cheer lead, especially for those of us not in Detroit.
I would like to recommend that every person on the 15th floor be required to visit branches 2X a year to see the REST of the world, not simply life as it exists in MI

Pros – The benefits are good and the compensation packages are decent. If you are in Detroit there is are career options.
Cons – Very siloed and no incentives for the divisions to work together to support their customers. Expect customers to do business the "compuwware way." Professional services has been deteriorating for years, yet it continues to rely on the same senior leadership (field and Detroit) to affect a different outcome. Top heavy, too much of the kool-aid and old school management mentality across most divisions.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on treating your employees and customers with respect. You need them more than they need you. Maybe it's time to investigate why your senior management team consistently blames the sales team. Maybe it's not the team, maybe the problem is that you have too many of the wrong coaches.

Current Employee – been working at Compuware
Pros – The chance to work with really talented, smart, and helpful people was one of the pros. The majority of my peers really made the experience worthwhile.
Cons – The vacation time caps out at only 3 weeks after you have been employed for 5 years. Also, there are very few recognized holidays. The pay scale should be more competitive. There is no matching 401k. Upper level management does not value the lower level employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Get to know your real employees more and try to value their contribution to the company. Perhaps you should also think about how many mangers the company truly needs to be successful as it seems that there are more people that are supposed "leaders" rather than true workers.
