Current Employee – been working at Compuware full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Employee Benefits. Healthcare, Dental, Vision, disability, legal options, retirement savings (although the employer contribution to the 401(k) is dismal - it was at least added recently).
Cons – Lack clear career path to follow.
You are a number and the one-to-one relationship between the company and the employee is non-existent.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Compuware full-time
Pros – Had a great team and always felt management was supportive. Product support was always quick to help answer questions or troubleshoot internal or customer problems.
Cons – Telecommuting options would have been nice. Wished for more flexibility for office hours when not at a client site or in meetings.

Pros – Emphasis on people - especially when it comes to travel makes this a very solid technology company. I believe this is a testament as to why so many people have elected to remain with the company for so many years.
Incredibly good products and a long history of professional services success in and around the Michigan area.
Cons – Limited upward mobility. This is especially the case for anyone employed in the regions outside of Michigan.
VERY limited vision / forward thinking within the Professional Services Division. I am not sure whether or not this is a result of failure to plan, inability to realize the services product, or simply an utter incompetence by senior executives.
Advice to Senior Management – Please review the business as a whole. If divisions aren't being successful, either fix them, sell them, or cut the head off the snake. The latter is an absolute necessity for some of them.

Former Employee – worked at Compuware full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Working with Gomez team (which later became part of Compuware) was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. The company grew, and provided growth opportunities for many individuals such as myself. Sure, there were occasional long nights, but there was also a very flexible work schedule that compensated for those long hours.
Cons – Ever since Compuware acquisition, things changed a little -- and main problem was with the directives coming from the HQ. Compuware has/had some of the worst HR policies -- forget the fact that it offered the fewest number of holidays in a calendar year, knowing that the company actually promoted mediocrity through its policies boggles my mind.
Advice to Senior Management – Mr Karmanos Senior, please refrain from berating an employee in an online public forum in future.

Current Employee – been working at Compuware full-time for more than a year
Pros – The APM and Covisint business unit operate within a growing industries. The company is also undergoing a slow but steady transition into renewing itself.
Cons – Not the best compensation. Poor attention to employees and their career growth. Best described as a company that can give you a job, and not a career.
Advice to Senior Management – Create more support systems that offer employees career planning and facilitate personal growth.

Former Employee – worked at Compuware
Pros – Compuware has a good work environment with lots of benefits at HQ. They are very involved in the community and offer many ways to advance internally.
Cons – Senior management is lacking in a solid strategy to deliver value to potential customers. Sales model is very cumbersome and creates many conflicts internally.
Advice to Senior Management – Choose a model that is proven and stick with it.

Current Employee – been working at Compuware
Pros – Good Health Benefits and I work closely with a great team of people
The technology is solid and ahead of its time. The vison of where Compuware wanst to go is there.
Cons – Lack of Vacation time and paid Holidays, the Corporation runs like it did in the 1980's. There is no clear messaginging about what we do and the sales philosophy is outdated.
Advice to Senior Management – Dramatic change to the corporate culture and philosophy- if they want to be ahead of their competition they need to change the way business is run-from Finance , Marketing and Sales. They have vision, but there is poor execution
