Though big, Concordia is a friendly and happy place to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsAccess to the health services has been fantastic, I don't have to worry about waiting for hours at a clinic. In general, it's well maintained. Feels safe.

ConsDepending on who you work for, jobs are contract-to-contract and therefore not secure. Benefits are mediocre. Food services on campus are overpriced.

    Being a TA while studying

    Teaching Assistant (Former Employee)
    Montreal, QC (Canada)

ProsI was a TA for one of my class. they give relatively good rate for a student and part-time job, and you have work closely with professor for some academic advantages, also it is an opportunity to excise public speaking.

ConsThe only cons i can think of is that it can take some of your time to study, usually the subject you had mastered it so you can be the TA for the course. Buy you could learn new things.

A good place to get a graduate degree

Research Assistant (M A Sc ) (Former Employee)

ProsKnowledgeable Profs (at least in my field: Electrical Engineering)
    Admission is not too difficult
    Nice Environment
    Lots of Computer Labs
Multicultural Environment where you will not be alone no matter where you come from!

ConsNo Enough Funding for Graduate Students
    No High Pay
    Not a well-Known University

Advice to Senior ManagementDecrease your salary and dividend and increase the funding to researchers instead

    Great experience

    Communications (Former Employee)
    Montreal, QC (Canada)

ProsGood salaries and benefits to most unionized staff. Professional but casual atmosphere. Downtown campus is a great location. I would look forward to working there again.

ConsNot many opportunities to move up the ladder. Very difficult to get in as most managers hire within their circle of contacts.
