ProsAutonomy of decision making re: curriculum and syllabus

ConsInstitution does not care about it's part-timers, and treats us as expendable and unimportant.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnderstand that over 50% of your professors work in a part-time capacity - this is an enormous percentage of your workforce. You need to treat us with greater respect.

ProsWhen you are within the time limits of the program it is an ok place to work. Change is coming though which should make it more competitive in terms of yearly salary compared to expected work load.

ConsWhen you are a teaching assistant part time your pay goes down to a lower rate despite the fact that you have been working there for over three years (Ph.D.) or two years (M.Sc.). That's pure unadulterated exploitation that needs to be addressed!

Advice to Senior ManagementYou should re-consider the rate per hour for Teaching assistants, it is far too low for the amount of work we have to do and insulting when we have to do the same work at a lower rate because we have gone over the time limit.
