I worked at Concordia University as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you're unionized, good for you ... life is good!!!!

    Cons

I worked at the GM building - guy et maisonneuve

There's almost ZERO diversity at the manager or higher ranks.

Unconscious or conscious discrimination at play?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shame that minority kids form around the world who go to school here can't aspire to responsible jobs here.

Practice what you preach Concordia and stop discriminating.

I worked at Concordia University as a contractor

    Pros

Good benefits and not too much micromanaging. Students are of mixed talent, but motivated and responsible. Montreal is a fantastic city in which to live and work, and Concordia is convenient to commute to from anywhere in the city.

    Cons

Administration is a basket case. Certain cases of hiring and tenure have been questionable over the last few years. The province of Quebec is broke and is cutting university budgets like mad. Class-sizes are large and only getting larger, and the downtown campus is stuffed to capacity.
