    I have been working at Concur full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    The team I work with and my ex-manager were awesome. That makes a big difference in motivation and work choices.

    Cons

    There are some people who take advantage of being in a senior position to sort of harass the ones who don't choose to climb the ladder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Owners are great, but then some senior management in sales is not really carrying the owners' work culture forward. Happens.

    Fast growing company with too many levels of management

    I have been working at Concur full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Company has grown from 1000 employees to over 4000 in 5 years. Stock price has risen almost 200% in the same time frame. Senior leadership makes it a point to be seen and share information/strategy.

    Cons

    Supervisors, Managers, Senior Managers, Directors, Assistant VPs, VPs, Senior VPs, etc. Flat is definitely not a word used to describe the organization of Concur.
    High tolerance for sub-performers
    Acquisitions have led to groups not feeling part of the "whole"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Flatten out the organization. Companies larger than Concur have done it with success. Too many layers leads to miscommunication as objectives/goals are filtered down the organization.

    Pros

    Good work life balance. Free snacks and drinks. Smart people to work with. Time-off isn't bad.

    Cons

    Lack of momentum. Poor upper management. Company culture is depressing with so many recent departures. Compensation is average and benefits are at the lower end of average.

    Decent benefits and work/life balance, nice co-workers and good morale.

    Cons

    Still very corporate feeling, cube farms, many layers of management. Not as start-up as advertised, difficult to really get things done and have an impact.

    Growing travel management industry. Lots of people use the services

    Everyone is salaried and the work / life balance is out of whack

    Pay attention to the annual reviews of the company given by the employees as they are stressed and stretched too thin

    No growth up until a certain point in my own opinion as most management is not in the local office.

    Pros

    Great people who have been with the company a long time. That alone tells you something. Executive leadership team is sharp, fair and approachable. The vision for the company is inspiring.

    Cons

    Ever since there was a reorg, there's not been a lot of congruence with what was expected and how the actual execution has worked out. Company doesn't like confrontational situation, which is great, but also hampers when those under performing are not dealt with in a timely and effective manner. Instead, those who are performing or exceeding performance are overloaded and spread thin to the point they start to get ineffective are not as high performing as they used to be.

    Check in with the front line on how things are going after such major changes such as a reorg or shift in strategy.

    Pros

    Great culture and benefits. At first I thought that there would be great opportunity for growth and career development. Coworkers are really nice and welcoming!

    Cons

    Management quality especially and the mid manager level does not align with segment goals and style. Organization is moving so fast that even if something might be working company would have already moved on to next idea.
