Great company to work for, very employee focused.

    Project Manager (Current Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsCoP is a great place to work. Its a very company oriented company with great benefits including a multi-million dollar fitness center complete with full size gymnasium, lap pool, soccer field, jogging trail, great weight room, large cardio room, and several class/workout rooms for spin classes, zumba classes, etc... The 9/80 program allows employess to be off every other Friday and flex hours give the employees to arrive and leave work on their own schedule. CoP is in the process of building a day care facility across the street from the main campus. The company airplane shuttle allows employees to travel to the most common destination without having to go through the hassles of the airport terminal. From what I can tell compensation is competitive. With locations all over the world, there are lots of opportunities.

ConsLiving and working in traffic-centric Houston makes the work/life balance more difficult than at some of the companies smaller sites, many of which also have very nice fitness facilities and programs. CoP is a large corporation and suffers from much of the red tape that keeps the company from responding quickly to changes in the business environment and stifles individual creativity and risk taking.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe best leaders ar not always the ones who can talk the most and the loudest.

    Good Place to work

    Analyst (Current Employee)
    Bartlesville, OK

ProsInteresting work. Good benefits and compensation.

ConsLocated in a small town where there are few good places to eat or things to do. If you are young and single this might not be the best place for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest more in making this community a desirable place to live.

    Very Fair

    N/A (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsFriendly people, very respectful towards people, a lot of opportunity for career change, good base salary and wonderful benefits.

ConsConservative "Texas" culture, very hierarchical (levels start at 10 and go up to 30 something), lack of trust and lots of micromanagement.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a much flatter organization.

    COP is a great place.

    IT Intern (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsThe IT department is going in a great direction, especially for an energy company. The atmosphere in the company as a whole is also very warming and hospitable.

ConsSince the split with Phillips 66 things have been changing but there is still a huge 80's corporate feel to the company. IT is much more up to date, but the company still has some work to do.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you're doing.

Great people at a company that actually cares for their employees

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsGreat work perks (on-site clinic, multiple dining locations, on-site soccer field, Olympic pool, and 3 story gym). Also, work hours are pretty straight-forward.

ConsNot challenging enough, company is too large so you feel lost at times
