Only energy company offering compete integrated energy product strategy

Director (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Constellation Energy Group full-time for more than 3 years

ProsCover the entire retail energy product and service portfolio right from being the largest retail energy provider with offerings in commodity, demand response, energy efficiency, solar and other renewable energy attributes

ConsDue to the internal structural challenges it is difficult to effectively provide a comprehensive offering. Commodity sales force which is the largest individual group are hesitant in offering comprehensive service offerings due to differing sales cycles and lack of knowledge

Advice to Senior ManagementHave technical sales or solutions developers who can develop and structure comprehensive and synergistic energy solutions offerings who have knowledge and expertise across the entire energy strategy

Stable company, limited opportunities

Finance Associate (Current Employee)
Baltimore, MD

I have been working at Constellation Energy Group full-time for more than a year

ProsDecent benefits, opportunity to work closely with C-level management, stable work environment.

ConsThe nuclear group is a great place to be if you are a nuclear engineer, but not a place for a finance professional. Though the team is made up of smart and talented people, there are very limited opportunities for growth

Good team environment

Senior Analyst (Former Employee)
Boston, MA

I worked at Constellation Energy Group full-time for more than 3 years

ProsEnjoyed the people and made many great friends and work relationships and the job was a great learning experience. Good pay and bonus.

ConsSome jobs are very structured where people are unable to think on their own and think outside the box to curtail future problems. Difficult to maneuver career, really need to be in right place at right time or know the right person. I don't feel jobs were filled based on best qualified candidates.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore employee recognition and engagement programs.

Good people but corporate policies stink

Analyst II (Current Employee)

I have been working at Constellation Energy Group full-time

ProsTeam members are great, for the most part. Working at a Nuclear Power Plant provides interesting work. Job stability. Decent benefits. Free safety shoes!

ConsWeird promotion rules. People who obviously have more talent, skills and responsibilities are often passed over for promotions in favor of old-timers who've been around longer. Merit pay increases are a joke (1% raise doesn't even cover cost of living). Although there is an emphasis on safety, schedule pressures can force people's hands. Work Life balance is a joke: 40 hours a week job really means 50-60 with no extra pay.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop squeezing every inch of work from your people without duly compensating them. Pay people extra when they are in ERO duty.

Fortune 500 company- overall decent

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Baltimore, MD

I have been working at Constellation Energy Group full-time for more than 3 years

ProsFortune 500, brand recognition, decent salary once you move up the ranks, nice downtown location, management is personable, tuition reimbursement (now it takes three years to forgive(1/3 a year), generous sick leave, average 401k match

ConsDifficult to move up the ranks (when the company was smaller it was a lot easier), feel like a number, not a person, work environment is like a factory floor or sardine can, have to pay for parking, bureaucracy, no recognition for advanced degrees, organization is so large you never know who to go to, office gets so loud you can't hear yourself think.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide a more comfortable work environment (ex. cubicles, white noise). Currently the offices are set up in rows like a factory floor, no privacy, and extremely loud at times (disruptive). Provide more cross-training opportunities so people have more exposure to different areas and have back up for when they are out of the office.
