I worked at Constellation Energy Group as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great culture Good manager interaction Good pay and benefits Good time off policies I learned a lot and had a good amount of flexibility with what I wanted to learn/accomplish

    Cons

"Contractor" situation is unfair to some workers who are not technically "employees" but still share the same role as employees Could use more training Little ability to see other parts of the business Closer oversight could have benefited both me and the business. There were obstacles from time to time that could have been overcome if I had more communication on my direct supervisors' ends.

    Advice to Management

Give full time offers to great interns!

    Pros

Good teamwork across most of the business unit. The company was filled with smart people. The corporate headquarters were in a great location in the Inner Harbor.

Acquisition by Exelon killed the culture.

I worked at Constellation Energy Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very high profile company in Baltimore with some of the best employees around.

    Cons

Industry was rocky and the stock was perilous at times. As there was some reduction in force, the morale was low when I left. However, I understand it's better now.

    Advice to Management

    Better communication across the enterprise.

I worked at Constellation Energy Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has some great benefits. They recently went through a restructuring and improved the benefit package. The company also tries to hold company wide meetings on a regular basis to keep you informed of the company's progress.

    Cons

There is no team work. Everyone seems to be trying to get recognition for themselves and not working together as they should.

    Cons

Recent merger with Exelon has reduced efficiencies as everything is system driven.

I have been working at Constellation Energy Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. If you like big companies with free perks like soda, coffee, snacks in the lunch room then you'll like CEG. There's also the occasional free lunch. 2. Social environment for the most part. You're free to chitchat with your neighbors and socialize. 3. No micro-management. Take breaks as you need them, and just get your work done. Results are everything here. 4. Training is offered as they see fit. 5. One of the top Energy companies on the east coast, and a great learning experience in general. People are nice and friendly.

    Cons

    1. Meetings are plentiful, and rather dull. Follow up meetings are commonplace. 2. Difficult to differentiate yourself. You're left to find your own path in the company with little guidance. 3. Meet your own people, and build up your own network to survive. Employees have been w/ the company for a long time, but most won't reach out initially.

    Advice to Management

Show that you value your contractors. They are part of the team as well.

  11. Good Atmosphere

    Pros

Easy going atmosphere with little political drama.

    Cons

    The company lacks competitive compensation.

    Advice to Management

Work on identifying those who will be up and comers, and try and foster their loyalty.
