Former Employee – worked at Continental AG as a contractor for more than 7 years
Pros – Powerful, worldwide company with obvious influence. They can make the correct business moves to acquire contracts and move forward quickly.
Cons – Heartless and non-responsive concerning dental insurance issues. Unless they are "legally" required to reply, you are left in the dark with no response. An obvious "we don't care" attitude.
Advice to Senior Management – "Treat all people as you wish to be treated yourself"...Unless you thrive on disappointment and low integrity.

Former Employee – worked at Continental AG
Pros – They provided a steady paycheck
Cons – Managers and employees had a fairly high turn over rate. Management spent very little effort in keeping employees well informed.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't double in size and then not downsize.

Current Employee – been working at Continental AG
Pros – Pay is decent if compared with other suppliers. Good flow of new business. Benefits are decent.
Cons – No work life balance exists. Emplyees are stretched thin and expected to work long hours with no appreciation for it. Some groups may experience it and others not. I guess it depends on your group. Future is in low cost countries. Your own US managers are hurting their own economy by outsourcing jobs.
Advice to Senior Management – Appreciate the work done by your employees and keep jobs here in the US instead of low cost countries. You are only hurting your own economy here.

Former Employee – worked at Continental AG
Pros – Job was not difficult at all. In fact, it was mind numbing. No surprises, the exact same thing every day.
Cons – Pay was abyssmal due to the exclusive use of temporary employees. No room for advancement, at all.
Advice to Senior Management – Management needs to redefine the business model: either move to a fully automated system with highly skilled technical employees or outsource everything overseas. The "inbetween" area they operate in now leaves no job security or pay for employees.

Former Employee – worked at Continental AG
Pros – They have many unique projects young engineers could be involved in. People are great to work with. It use to be a good company to with for. .
Cons – Salary are below average. No chance to climb the ladder unless if you're involve with interfacing Germany. Being as an automotive business, it's very unstable to work for now.
Advice to Senior Management – There are many people with great ideas, if management could just listen to some of the ideas then it be a better place to work.

Former Employee – worked at Continental AG
Pros – Good Benefits, Good Pay in certain departments
Cons – In certain departments the opportunity to move up is very difficult.
Advice to Senior Management – Remember your internal employees came there looking to move up, look to them first before hiring a new candidate, makes for better moral.

Current Employee – been working at Continental AG
Pros – Right now, not many. Its a job in this environment.
Cons – When Continental first bought Motorola's Automotive unit, life was good. Once they bought Siemens VDO and put those buffoons in charge, things have gone downhill. Very deceptive and controlling. Once everyone leaves, they will be once again wondering why they don't have any North American business.
Advice to Senior Management – Open your eyes! All the good ideas don't come from Germany!

Current Employee – been working at Continental AG
Pros – High tech company, Lots of talented people, Competitive pay and vacation time, Good work life balance
Cons – All important decisions made in Germany. Lots of talented engineers left the company or let go were critical in future projects. Don't know how the company can replace the right people they lost when they win new projects. More managers than workers in the company. Employees preparing resume during work time. Direction not clear after many mergers and acquisitions
Advice to Senior Management – Have a vision and translate into action. Learn to bring in new projects and not just wait for them.
