    Pros

Flight benefits, flexibility, wages good once you top out.

    Cons

Wages horrible when you start, layoffs are rampant in the industry, must be very flexible, technology will wipe out this division eventually to a bare minimum. You can't work here unless your better half can afford to pay the bills.

    Advice to Management

Be clear with employees, be fair in compensation, respect senority throughout. It never makes sense that our CEO after bonuses makes $2400/ hour for a job that can be done for much less. Want to return to profitability? Try cutting from the top. CEO wages enough to pay 125-300 other workers for the entire year depending on how much they make!

    Pros

Global Airline with a very nice product

    Cons

Don't want to pay reasonable wages especially for those who live in the state of New Jeresy with the highest property tax in the nation POOR middle management with very little leadership skills. You need to treat your employees like you want your employees to treat the customers.

    Advice to Management

Walk in the shoes of the varies work groups before making some key business decisions CEO should go under cover to get a REAL WORLD PICTURE .STOP GIVING LIP SERVICE about dignity and respect it is LONG GONE Manage by intimidation will never work in the long run

    Pros

Continental has a great benefits and good insurance compensation. Jobs are flexible and coworkers are great.

    Cons

It's all about senority. I have been there for 11 years and was unfortunately part of the furlough in the coming months. The jobs here have fluctuated due to the economy, jet fuel prices, and lower demand. Once you top out it's, $19/hour not including your incentives, bonuses, holiday overtime ect.

    Advice to Management

I think management needs to rethink how they treat their employees. Res aents put the customers on the flights. If it weren't for the agents, there would be not much of Continental today. The new CEO, Smisek is cutthroat and willing to do anything so he can get his $750,000 paycheck ( not including bonuses). If anything, management needs a paycut and a furlough. Can you imagine he needs $375 an hour...add up the bonuses and were up tp $600/ hour maybe more. Bad on the heart is all I can say. Step on everyone else to be on top is the name of the position.

    Pros

Travel Benefits, relative job security, task diversity, respect from co-workers, decent but expensive medical benefits, good sick time policy. Central Job Location

    Cons

poor advancement opportunities, poor holiday and vacation policy. Very poor middle management. Eroding health, 401K and pension benefits. Eroding health benefits.

    Advice to Management

Go back to real Dignity and Respect...Go back to employee empowering. Stop the ridiculous executive bonuses and return to real pay for long term performance...not short term personal executive gains

    Pros

Working in reservations was wonderful. Extremely flexible hours with the ability to pick up additional shifts or drop shifts as needed. The commission plan in reservations is one of the best in the industry. There are also many opportunites to take familiarization trips that are organized and leader by the company, giving the agents the ability to visit the location that they are actually selling to our customers. Continental is also very community involved, sponsoring golf tournaments, cook-offs, etc.

    Cons

The major downside is working at a small outstation. In my case, the station does not follow corporate policy. The inmates are running the assylum, so to speak. The GM is aware of the situation, and is ok with it.
