    Insecure, contracted employee

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood pay, benefits, and safe environments provided due to UNION (UAW) collective bargaining agreement.

ConsInsecure feeling of worth....Company only kept us due to contractual requirements....We made Continental a significant profit with absolute disregard for our future.

Best Pay I've Ever Had Worst Job Ever As Well

Assembler/Material Handler (Current Employee) Morganton, NC

ProsGreat Pay right at $40,000 gross with a little overtime every week. They also provide tuition reimbursement as well.

ConsRACISM is rampant at the Morganton, North Carolina plant. The secind biggest problem is cronyism. The management at this plant is out of touch with what actually happens on the production floor, and there is often to many people for to few jobs. Many of the older employees no longer work they merely stand around talking and temporary employees are brought in to pick up the slack. No real opportunity for advancement once jobs are taken they are locked up for 10 or more years.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop hiring family members based solely on that merit work ethic should go much further, hire some people that may not have the education yet, and make the stipulation that full pay will not be given until completion of degree.

    Unprofessional response concerning insurance issues

Electronics Tech III (Former Employee) Huntsville, AL

ProsPowerful, worldwide company with obvious influence. They can make the correct business moves to acquire contracts and move forward quickly.

ConsHeartless and non-responsive concerning dental insurance issues. Unless they are "legally" required to reply, you are left in the dark with no response. An obvious "we don't care" attitude.

Advice to Senior Management"Treat all people as you wish to be treated yourself"...Unless you thrive on disappointment and low integrity.

Too much work and never enough time to do anything correctly.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Auburn Hills, MI

    ProsPaycheck is adequate for now.

ConsUpper management doesn't manage or set direction properly. They're too detached and there's a breakdown in discipline.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to hire competent people and remove the incompetent ones.

Automotive industry tanked and effectively we lost around 60 days worth of pay.

Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee) Deer Park, IL

    ProsThey provided a steady paycheck

ConsManagers and employees had a fairly high turn over rate. Management spent very little effort in keeping employees well informed.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't double in size and then not downsize.

Job stability versus other suppliers. Employees stretched thin.

Engineer (Current Employee) Auburn Hills, MI

ProsPay is decent if compared with other suppliers. Good flow of new business. Benefits are decent.

ConsNo work life balance exists. Emplyees are stretched thin and expected to work long hours with no appreciation for it. Some groups may experience it and others not. I guess it depends on your group. Future is in low cost countries. Your own US managers are hurting their own economy by outsourcing jobs.

Advice to Senior ManagementAppreciate the work done by your employees and keep jobs here in the US instead of low cost countries. You are only hurting your own economy here.

Assembly Line Operator Review of Continental Teves

Assembly Line Operator (Former Employee) Morganton, NC

ProsJob was not difficult at all. In fact, it was mind numbing. No surprises, the exact same thing every day.

ConsPay was abyssmal due to the exclusive use of temporary employees. No room for advancement, at all.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to redefine the business model: either move to a fully automated system with highly skilled technical employees or outsource everything overseas. The "inbetween" area they operate in now leaves no job security or pay for employees.

Great company to be in if you're entry level

Electrical Engineer (Former Employee) Deer Park, IL

ProsThey have many unique projects young engineers could be involved in. People are great to work with. It use to be a good company to with for. .

ConsSalary are below average. No chance to climb the ladder unless if you're involve with interfacing Germany. Being as an automotive business, it's very unstable to work for now.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere are many people with great ideas, if management could just listen to some of the ideas then it be a better place to work.

    Fair employment

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood Benefits, Good Pay in certain departments

ConsIn certain departments the opportunity to move up is very difficult.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember your internal employees came there looking to move up, look to them first before hiring a new candidate, makes for better moral.
