I have been working at Convergys full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

$10/HOUR. Everyone receives breaks and lunches. Schedules are flexible.

    Cons

Must share desk and headsets with others, which are quite dirty and dusty. You do not have your own desk. Team Leaders are not quick when asking a question about an account, even when a customer is on hold. TL's also get upset when you ask several questions. They do not start well under stress and frequently yell across the room (customers can hear this on the line). Overstaffed. Workers are often sent home earlier w/o pay, thus shortening checks. Certain rules are not always enforced with everyone b/c TL's are sometimes bias and show favoritism. Also, different TL's have different rules regarding what to do and what not to do on a call. So if you switch teams, even though you are handling the same calls and customers, with the same company client you may receive an "autofail" on a quality of a call b/c the new TL does not allow that certain thing to be done in that matter.

    Cons

Instability due to client needs, lower pay due to being a 3rd party provider. No work and life balance

I have been working at Convergys full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits compared to most call centers, awesome people to work with, great location

    Cons

Minimal pay for what we do, unstable bonus and commission structure, project and company direction changes too often...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on one thing and be amazing at it and when you get that going then become amazing at something else. STOP toying with employees with pay and as for your managers you should expect excellence but you should also coach and prepare for it. There are managers you hire just to watch fail and do not assist with their position and in turn it takes its toll on the employees they are in charge of. Also if your going to make your managers salary make it a true salary we are there before and after our shifts and on our days off to make it happen if we are sick for one day or have to miss a few hours you should dock our pay for those considering you didn't pay us extra for working extra hard.

I have been working at Convergys

    Pros

Good benefits and paid time off. Room to move up and around Great people for the most part. No matter where you work there is always one or two bad eggs but that's rare

    Cons

Too many jobs offshore. Hiring externally offered higher pay than if it were an internal promotion

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None really. Other than looking at paying internal better than external hires

I have been working at Convergys

    Pros

It's a work at home call center position. The pay is average $9.00. Paid training. My experience with the company has been very professional. Offer employee benefits.

    Cons

There aren't any down sides that I have experienced.

I have been working at Convergys

    Pros

Fast paced customer service environment. Good colleagues to work with. Fun atmosphere.

    Cons

Three times the work of a phone agent. No pay increase for the added workload. The ineptitude of some the team leaders. Lack of understanding for family issues. PTO could be more regular and not given at a whim.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better training for the younger team leaders to instill a sense of pride in their work. A better decision making diagram for the PTO.

I have been working at Convergys

    Pros

    I learned quite a bit.

    Cons

No real promotions. If you miss to many days despite your great scores. You get let go. when Convergys bought out Stream Global. I love my job helping is what do, but it does not matter to them. But they do not value you. If you do to well then they keep you on the phones to keep the scores up. If you show any sign that you are unhappy, or complain you are marked with no promotion in site. I was told by 2 people that I would get a promotion. One person left and the other just lied to cover up the fact. If you want a career in the Tech industry or custom service. Go to school. I loved my job their, but when you get broken down so many times, you tend to give up the illusion that the company cares about you. So I am not saying don't work there, I am saying use caution because they dont care about anyone but themselves. I have talked to former management, there us favoritism. If they do promote people they act lije they are curing Cancer. The 1 ups as they call them treat you as if you are idiots, if you ask questions that you may or may not already know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the attendance policy and hire people who really want a career. Acknowledge the fact that there is favoritism. Value the people who do well. Stop letting your team leaders lie.
