    Pros

Lots of overtime available, comfortable environment, decent equipment. Overall enjoyable at first, with a new exciting job. Training paid and very thorough. Nice people.

    Cons

Management does not talk with employees. It has the atmosphere of a high school. Break room is often dirty. Eventually, calls get painfully repetitive. No room for growth. No good choice of schedule.

    Advice to Management

Hire more competent middle-management. Have them interact with workers on a more personal and dignified level. Make the place more fun to be.

    Pros

Full-time work. Good stepping stone for customer service and technical skill builder. Opportunities for advancement based on performance.

    Cons

Poor benefits and pay in comparison to work load.

    Advice to Management

Provided annual or bi-annual raises for tenured employees.

    Pros

There are a great many good people and products supported by Convergys staff. It is a great place for organizational behavior principle conditioning and an opportunity for testing the limits of oneself in a dynamic call center environment.

    Cons

Working for Convergys instead of directly for your clients can cause communication and goal conflicts when attempting to satisfy the business needs of multiple supervisors. The workload is not always dependable with fluctuating support call volumes and there's seldom opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Even third-party contractors can utilize change and implement feedback avenues to incentivize the workforce. Opening up advisement opportunities would also serve to revitalize organizational culture.

    Pros

Convenient location, very diverse employees and many are very friendly. Many different schedules available depending on what program you work for.

    Cons

Disorganized, typical call center. Favoritism exists with managers. Rules don't seem to apply to everyone. Lack of professionalism amongst employees of all levels

    Pros

Reimbursement for College tuition no matter what you study. No long wait period for insurance to go into effect.

    Cons

Impossible to get raises, never pay out the commission owed for sales. Unreasonable attendance and point system. Miss one day of work for any reason, even sickness, and there goes %50 of your score on salary reviews. Automatically given 1/2 a point if more than 3 minutes late logging into computer system. Even when there are no free computer stations to log into.

    Advice to Management

Lighten up on the ridiculous point system, and start treating employee's like people instead of robots.

    Pros

A lot of tools to assist in driving efficiencies and followup. size of the company does give the sense of more stability.

    Cons

Talk about the importance of people but actions don't effectively demonstrate caring at even the most fundamental levels. VPs and SVPs focus on what hasn't been achieved versus the glide path to success.

    Advice to Management

Don't assume the team leaders and operations managers are the root of the employee satisfaction problems and any inability to sustain performance. The poor behaviors often observed, are often a result of the poor behaviors of the leaders; VPs and directors. It is unfortunate so much talent is being pushed out under the pretense of that's what it takes to improve performance. Recommend you look at those VPs that are protecting their butts by sacrificing those below them, and also treating people like an endless low value resource. Likely at least half of your attrition and performance problems lie here.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

I know we're an outsourcing company, but job needs to start at 48......minimum and that's still too low.

    Pros

Pay is a little below a living wage, but above minimum (~10/hr in Sirius, ~13/hr in Dell, AT&T works off commission). Work is dead easy, if droll. If it wasn't for my coworkers, I wouldn't still be working here. Great coworkers make a 'just enough' wage a lot more enticing than ending up in a job with better pay that I couldn't stand to be at.

    Cons

There is definite sexism in the workplace from the all-female upper administration. If you're not female, there is a strong chance you're not moving up the corporate ladder to even low level supervisory roles. Also, they are continuing to find ways to reduce benefits and pay at every step, with most recent being cutting holiday pay hours. The health benefit packages are more expensive and less coverage than private plans obtained for an individual outside the company, you'll save yourself money to get your own health, dental, and vision coverage elsewhere. If you ever intend on a raise, go elsewhere. The pay is set, and you'll NEVER see a pay raise after the 6mo 'you haven't quit yet' raise.

    Advice to Management

Since you're cutting corners, cutting benefits, and cutting pay in other places, then you should give a pay raise. It's been years since there was a pay raise.
