I have been working at Cooley Godward Kronish full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Cooley respects their employees and cares about their professional development. While each office is a bit different, the firm as a whole is a collegial place to work and the firm tries it best to promote a sense of team at all levels.

    Cons

From my individual experience, there are none worth noting

I have been working at Cooley Godward Kronish full-time

    Pros

You get to work with lots of very smart people with very exciting clients in the high tech sector.

    Cons

Work is very fast paced and people can be very demanding. Also, the firm seems pretty cheap a lot of the time. For example, bonuses tend to be at or below market and things like IT infrastructure seems inadequate and/or slow. Work style varies a lot based on who you managed by.

I worked at Cooley Godward Kronish full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Interesting work, both large, successful clients and emerging industries and startups. Loved the people I worked with, and the lavish environment.

    Cons

Tends to be a bit bureaucratic and snobbish sometimes, and my admin manager was watching the clock too much as opposed to paying attention to the quality of work being done by professional and paraprofessional staff.

I worked at Cooley Godward Kronish

    Pros

CGK provides excellent opportunities to work on very interesting technology law issues, along with related subject matter areas. It has a self-described "Cooley culture" that allows you to set your own work/life balance.

    Cons

It can be a "who you know" not "what you know" kind of place at times. If you are not part of the inner circle, you may not get the good deals to work on or the opportunities for advancement that other may get.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to be a firm that focuses on the person rather than the bottom line and in so doing don't lose sight of each member of the Cooley team.
