    Time off policy not bad. There not much as a growth process. Lots of work but not enough people to get it done.

    I have been working at CorVel full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Working for CorVel has been an experience, it hasn't been horrible, but it really hasn't been the best...for me. Corvel focuses on providing the best solutions to managing workers compensation claims, they provide the technology to get the work completed efficiently. They also promotes working independently; a self learner if you like working alone.

    Cons

    Corvel doesn't offer the best training programs, for a company that revolved around labor codes, there should be a program to ensure that their employees how to answer questions regarding worker compensation process before they start managing claims. Also the perks and benefits don't really compensate for the amount of work you're assigned to. Too much work not enough reward.

    Work from home; flexible hours; able to take proper vacation days; up-to-date technology; frequent opportunity to use critical thinking and communication skills; ability to talk with providers as partners in care management, and in a professional environment.

    Cons

    Micro-managing, production demands, cost of insurance and deductibles, Work waits (aka minimal coverage for vacations), non-respectful and disrespectful treatment from immediate supervisor and a general lack of demonstrated appreciation for professional employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat professionals with respect, and acknowledge that years of knowledge and information is valued. Respect the professional training that registered nurses have in regard to professional integrity and personal fortitude. Evaluate performance and employee value, from the prospective of big picture, rather than minutia that can often hinder, or even stop creativity.

    Hired me without experience and I learned a lot and was grateful for that.

    They gave people so undeserving of the job so many chances that it caused problems with great co-workers who did their job.

    A lot of good people who are trying to do a great job in spite of corporate management
    Flexible work hours for some

    Even as I write this, Im thinking, if anyone figures out who I am, I'm history--fearful atmosphere.
    Poor benefits that cost too much to use
    Often feels like higher management doesn't trust or care about employees and local mgmt has no power

    Trust your employees-especially people who have proven themselves trustworthy
    Improve benefits--create a Human Resources Dept instead of outsourcing everything
    Prove you are trustworthy
