    Pros

Good benefits.. paid time off.. bonuses (when you can actually reach them)

    Cons

unattainable goals, managers don't know how to do reps jobs. Certain people Get special treatment.

    Advice to Management

You shouldn't fire people who are always on time and normally go way over goal. Because u added a new matrix 3p sell in that was nearly impossible to reach!!

    Pros

    Free High-Speed Internet. Free Coffee.

    Cons

Does not care about Employees. Loves to outsource jobs for cheap labor. Laid off the Entire San Diego Call Center which was the best technical support personnel the company had ever seen.

    Advice to Management

What goes around comes around! You treat your loyal Employees like crap and your company is going downhill. You have gone from A++ customer service to F++ customer service. Atlanta Corporate is so out of touch with reality. They spend like crazy on expensive trips and functions but lay off their best employees??? Karma will catch up to this Trash Company!

I have been working at Cox Communications

    Pros

The majority of the fellow reps on the floor are friendly and good people. The free food, when actually in stock, was pretty good and it was nice to have snacks and coffee every day. The dress is casual and it's a small, fairly quiet location. It feels safe and secure, and the location is right off of the freeway. Training on learning about website security is fairly thorough

    Cons

It's a shame what has become of this company. COX was once a place truly for opportunity and growth and employees were well paid and happy. The management was tough but they really were there to help you succeed. That all changed - drastically. Almost every single person who built the company into what it is today is gone, including most of the higher-ups. Compensation kept changing dramatically. Within a matter of a few months, people were making anywhere from 50-80% less yet selling more. Now the turn-over is very high and the commission structure continues to make it harder and harder for hard-working employees to pay their bills. Senior employees with tenure were treated the same as people who just came in the door. There is no room for growth and advancement. There are no raises. Sometimes management would say things to employees that were beyond unprofessional and on the verge of harassment that would be court worthy (hostile work environment). The health insurance is shoddy at best, and while you might get PTO, if you miss more than a day in a month you will never meet your goal to get paid a dime in commission. Also on the note of commission, even if you do reach the goal, don't expect to get paid what you were promised. Money goes missing from reps constantly - anywhere from a few dozen dollars to a few thousand. Be aware, they make you sign a document that states that they can change and control your commission however they see fit. The product itself is legitimate - when it works. However, it is way over-priced. Competitors sell the same products for less than half of the cost, and then customers feel scammed when they get hacked anyway. COX promotes a lot of false advertising as well and you will receive a lot of threats over the phone from angry customers. A lot of reps have to lie to the customers just to get a sale because people are so hungry to get money and meet the outrageous goals. Then the customers get angry and cancel and money is lost. The whole structure is a mess and management refuses to listen to reps about changes that need to be made. The company is a mess inside and out. It might be a multi-million dollar company, but most of those dollars will be going into the pockets of the higher-ups, not you. I don't advise working here for anyone

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring TEMPS and release employees because of high performance.

    Pros

every now and then your female customers got a little frisky

    Cons

when you turned them down, they would call in you. The pay was substandard in my opinion. What amount you did get paid, you would have to pay for own fuel and other expenses. It left little actual take home pay

    Advice to Management

They happier the guys on the front lines, the better job they will do

    Pros

Benefits, free cable if I had been asked this 8 years ago my answer would be much more lengthy.

    Cons

It's not the the working environment they try to proclaim.no room for advancement, if you apply for a position it doesn't matter what you know it's about who you know the good ol' boy system is still thriving strong here.people who get advancements have no clue what they are doing they just worry about the numbers and never have your back.Anyone new coming into the company does not have the proper training to do their job.Corporate has done so many changes with no explanation and are very secretive over everything. They do not care about their employees which in return is making it difficult for thoughs of us who have been here 10+ years to care as well. With all the changes they have thrown all veteran employees hard work down the drain!!!

    Advice to Management

There is no point in leaving advice for management they do not care and will still do what they want.Keep up the good work management and corporate there is a reason why myself and several other employees are on this site but hey when Cox goes under don't say we didn't warn yall.

  10. Great until they closed my location

    I worked at Cox Communications

    Pros

Benefits are great. Lots of incentives. Pay was competitive until they made changes. The benefits are very competitive. Work life balance is excellent.

    Cons

When I worked in inside sales, I was a top sales Rep greatly rewarded with pay and incentives. I was clearing almost 8,000.00 a month consistently for about two years . Cox announced they were closing locations and my position was being moved to Phoenix and I live in Louisiana. I was hired in the retail store as a sales Rep and was told I would make the Same type of money. Contrary, I was making about 1/4 of What I was promised . All the customers wanted to do in the retail store was pay their bill, return equipment, pick up equipment for orders already set up over the phone, and complain about how high their bill is making sales goals nearly impossible. Cox is a great company to work for, but managers lie and threaten your job a lot. I'M sorry but I can't live off of 1/4 of What I was making. Also, they think the retail store is ATT. STAY AWAY FROM RETAIL IF YOU WANT JOB SECURITY.

    Advice to Management

Fire the Big wig that was hired from ATT. ATT has lost sight of serving the customers and Cox is headed in the Same direction. He left ATT for a reason. Please open your eyes.

  11. Serious Problem on your hands

    I worked at Cox Communications

    Pros

Not a whole lot good to say about this as, you do not value good quality service to your customers on or off the field.

    Cons

    1. Stop pushing the major sales, when the customer call in for help . Let The techs do their jobs in attempting to resolve the issues first. Leave the major sales as an option if the customer can't afford say a new modem offer the phone then. Let the Tech judge the tone of the call an offer the sale or service appropriate to the call not just to make money for the company. Let the main sale in tech support be the upgrade cts, and such that would enhance or fix the service not further aggravate the situation.

    Advice to Management

1 reopen your call centers biggest complaint is hold time and tech take a beating over something that is not their fault- bad move on your part.
2 Get Back to quality customer service and pride in it and being real. Customers know the difference.
Customer remark is their junk don't work why would i want to by more junk- dissatisfaction is growing.
3 Hold field techs responsible to for customer interaction.
    4. Let the tech do their jobs and restore customers opinions of cox. By the way I happen to know of outsourced techs that were lied to saying it was not a sales job
    5. Your poor techs are cought between you and the customers and customer will argue w ith them not thinking they are feeding them excuses you tell them to say example when brooad caster premepts shows and it doesn't match the guide.
