    Great experience

Media Consultant (Former Employee) Dayton, OH

ProsThe culture, employees, and opportunity to make really decent money.

ConsMiddle-management seems a bit lost on the direction and how to figure out revenue producing initiatives.

Advice to Senior ManagementGood employees are leaving left and right because there is a constant sense of uncertainty in their daily roles. The job itself is stressful enough- no one wants to wonder whether or not their position will still exist day-to-day.

    Close knit friendly atmosphere

    SSA (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsThe benefits and support for training opportunities is good.

ConsHowever some opportunities are not open to all employees to help advance. And when does anyone have time to take some of these courses offered? Unless they are mandatory.

It was great until my position was eliminated in a downsizing campaign.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) San Antonio, TX

ProsAbove market compensation for the time period, great quality of staff and management.

ConsUnrealistic budget expectations, failure to downsize effectively prior to the absolute need to.

Great place to work if you can break into the "in crowd."

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFun working environment. They treat employees with respect and dignity.

ConsIf you're not PERSONAL friends with people working there, especially management you have no chance of advancement. They do not like people who keep to themselves when not at work. If you're an extrovert, Cox is the place for you. If you're an outlier, don't bother.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake some time when hiring to look outside your circle of personal friends. Promoting from within is great, but not always, especially when it comes to on air talent.

    It's fun, fast and creative!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsCollaboration between departments, fun and creative people, plenty of resources to get what you need. It's pretty fast paced and can be hectic, but it's always rewarding when you see or hear the results on air.

    ConsToo much "standardizing" going on.

Job is alright, no where to go

Sales Assistant (Current Employee) Arlington, VA

ProsThe job I had was fine for what it was- entry level, mostly data entry and support. Office environment was comfortable with very little corporate BS.

ConsJob was repetitive after a while- no surprise, lots of data entry- and advancement was possible but completely unappealing. Account managers complained of low pay and the fact that there was mandatory 6 months training in New York with little guarantee of where you would be going afterwards, and of course they could shuffle you around at any time.

Advice to Senior ManagementReconsider how you appraise the value of your account managers.
