Great brand recognition, lack of vision and direction for the future.

Sales (Current Employee)

I have been working at Crabtree & Evelyn full-time for more than a year

ProsVery good benefits program, solid compensation package, strong sales & marketing team. Opportunities for growth throughout the world in multiple channels; retail, wholesale, and online.

ConsLack of leadership and vision for future growth. Turnover in c-level leadership and a lack of urgency to fill the voids and provide direction to the company. 6 month gap with no CEO-level leadership.

Advice to Senior ManagementDefine a direction and support a vision for growth.

– I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Comfortable First Job

Sales Supervisor (Former Employee)
Bethesda, MD

I worked at Crabtree & Evelyn part-time for less than a year

ProsFlexible with scheduling, relaxed and friendly environment, Limited stocking/cleaning duties because it's a small store

ConsCash register system can be faulty, demanding and impatient higher management (district managers, etc.), Clientele can be tough to please

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember that you're selling bath products. We're doing the best we can and trying to make vapid products look like necessities, but repackaging products and selling them for a higher price annoys customers and there really isn't anything we can do to change that.

Key Holder

Keyholder (Former Employee)
New City, NY

I worked at Crabtree & Evelyn part-time for more than 3 years

ProsThe only positive aspects about working for this company was sharing experiences with the clients.

ConsIncredibly undercompensated despite the high price points. Low-quality corporate employees is leading to low quality in-store staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the individuals in your retail stores, they experience the customers on a daily basis and have amazing ideas to improve sales, products and merchandising.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

DO NOT WORK HERE!

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Murfreesboro, TN

I worked at Crabtree & Evelyn

ProsYou get to test products and you leave smelling good.

ConsIt was very disorganized. They displays took days to complete. and sometimes after you completed them they would tell you to take it down.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease look at who you are hiring as managers. The people that I have talked to at various stores all loved who they were working with but hated management.
