    Disappointing

    Server (Former Employee)

ProsManagers were good at working with employees to accommodate schedule changes and training assistance

ConsRequired "side work" of servers, which amounted to free labor, for items such as maintenance, housecleaning and food preparation work before the server could check out and leave for the night. Once a manager had approved you to leave your shift, you would often find that you had to wait on a cashier to check-out ALL customers BEFORE she would tip you out. This often times amounted to a delay of 20 minutes or more additional time before you could literally leave the building to go home.

    Good part time work

Shift Leader (Former Employee) Dayton, OH

ProsNo alcohol served and you are able to cross train into other positions after 90 or so days most of the time to gain more versatility and hours.

ConsThe company is changing and has changed much. I hope they know what they are doing and everything turns out alright for the company in the long run.

Advice to Senior ManagementRegional vice presidents and home office... please assess your stores associate managers true work ethics and whether they know their job, along with the general and district managers integrity. Top executives, please decrease the amount of stores the regional vice presidents are each in charge of, ensuring they can focus on knowing what is truly going on in stores of their regions.

    Management

Associate Manager (Current Employee) Tampa, FL

ProsIndustry pay above the norm with great bonus potential. Opportunities to grow and transfer

ConsVery long day and no balance to life outside the barrel. Additional training support on your own.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhile your pay scale is above industry standard for management we are also employees. Take a balance approach and stop the 12 hour / 6 work days.

    Always a challenge

Server (Current Employee) East Fayettevlle, NC

ProsCracker barrel is a fun place to work at but managers usually have favoritism when giving certain servers hours. Training program is pretty well structured.

ConsThere are to many employees that dont do their job . Some employees are lazy and have attitudes. Cracker barrel can be a stressful job depending on who the managers are for that night and workers as well. Managers can be a little stuck up at times.Servers work hard and dont get appreciated at times on there performance. Employees barely get breaks.

Still fairly new to company much to learn so far it has been tough.

Associate Manager (Current Employee) Bay City, MI

ProsBenefits, pay, bonuses quarterly. If this is all you care about would be a good opportunity.

ConsVery long days not always easy to get your work done with all that time stretched so thin. Sounds funny but it is true. You often end up working multiple positions throughout the day. All managers seem to have their own agenda also. Difficult to have a life with such a flex schedule. Some days you are there til 2 am closing. Same week you may have to be up by 330 am to get to work by 430 am. A
